WHO: Jack Harkness, Ianto Jones
WHAT: well, well, look what the Rift dragged in.
WHEN: Day Three, Late Evening
WHERE: in the hall, outside Jack's dormitory
STATUS: complete!
RATING: PG

For Jack Harkness, it had been a rather full day. First there was the meeting of the elf (Legolas, Jack fondly remembered) and... oh... Jack smiled fondly. His Doctor. His Doctor was here, wherever here was. But having the Doctor and Rose here? There was nothing on Earth (or any other universe he'd found himself in for that matter) that could top it.

No, there was one thing.

Jack paused outside his door, closing his eyes for the briefest of moments. It wasn't that he had forgotten him (how could he, really?) -- but with all the excitement of the few days? Well... Jack rested his forehead against the door to his dormitory. With everything that had happened, Jack's stomach twisted uncomfortably. What was going on in Cardiff? How were they faring?

Ianto...

Sighing, Jack slipped his key into the lock. No chance of going home and no way of knowing how they were doing. Like the last time he'd been taken, but at least then Jack knew all he would have to do would be to ask the Doctor to go back to Cardiff. Now, there was no hope of return. Fucking fantastic.

What was it that Jack had once said about 51st century pheromones? Apparently he had them amped up especially right now. Ianto retreated a few steps back, feeling light-headed. "Perfect, apart from that bit about your head being rather larger than it should be," he quipped, trying to regain equilibrium. This just didn't make sense. "A year ago? How is this possible? How is any of this possible?" He gestured expansively.

"And who the hell is Rose?" The Doctor... well, Ianto knew who that was by reputation, of course. Not to mention that he'd taken Jack out of Ianto's-- no, out of all of their lives for a full year. Curiosity aside, Ianto was not exactly impressed with the man. Being. Whatever.

There was no amping up of pheromones at the present, just one-hundred percent pure Jack. Back and forth they seemed to be moving in some strange dance that Jack had thought they'd gotten past. Apparently they were back to square one again. "But it happened," Jack insisted. He stepped forward, hands flying to Ianto's chest, undoing the tie and starting to unbutton Ianto's shirt before the other man could protest. Jack tugged on the collar, exposing a bit of shoulder, frowning when he saw no scar on his shoulder.

"Oh no. There's supposed to be a scar there," Jack said, jabbing at the skin with a finger. "Small, but there." Jack lifted his head, taking a step back from him. His hand came to rest over his holster, not drawing the Webly, but close to it. "All right. So who are you? Impressive impersonation..." Jack paused. "And, to answer your question, Rose was the Doctor's companion," Jack said, interrupting the train of conversation momentarily. "Now, as I was asking -- who are you?"
