Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Entry tags:complete, day three, ianto jones, jack harkness

WHO: Jack Harkness, Ianto Jones
WHAT: well, well, look what the Rift dragged in.
WHEN: Day Three, Late Evening
WHERE: in the hall, outside Jack's dormitory
STATUS: complete!
RATING: PG

For Jack Harkness, it had been a rather full day. First there was the meeting of the elf (Legolas, Jack fondly remembered) and... oh... Jack smiled fondly. His Doctor. His Doctor was here, wherever here was. But having the Doctor and Rose here? There was nothing on Earth (or any other universe he'd found himself in for that matter) that could top it.

No, there was one thing.

Jack paused outside his door, closing his eyes for the briefest of moments. It wasn't that he had forgotten him (how could he, really?) -- but with all the excitement of the few days? Well... Jack rested his forehead against the door to his dormitory. With everything that had happened, Jack's stomach twisted uncomfortably. What was going on in Cardiff? How were they faring?

Ianto...

Sighing, Jack slipped his key into the lock. No chance of going home and no way of knowing how they were doing. Like the last time he'd been taken, but at least then Jack knew all he would have to do would be to ask the Doctor to go back to Cardiff. Now, there was no hope of return. Fucking fantastic.

And that wasn't supposed to happen. Jack couldn't remember the last time someone had pulled away from a kiss like that. Well, he could but the pull away had been followed quickly by the removal of clothing, not a man crossing his arms in front of himself like that.

What the hell indeed.

"Unless I've made a mistake, you are one Jones, Ianto Jones," Jack spoke, fixing him with a level gaze. "And as you obviously know who I am, this isn't a case of mistaken identity. Consequently? What do you mean, what the hell?" Jack took a step closer, almost pinning Ianto to the door.

"I am one Jones, Ianto Jones," Ianto agreed, squinting at Jack like he was a bloody shapeshifter with a prescient knowledge of Ianto's life. "But-- Jack."

The problem with protesting against something you've been having wet dreams about is that it's difficult to muster any sort of believable resistance. Ianto's head fell back slightly, resting against the door. He unfurled his arms enough to rest his hands on Jack's chest without actually pushing again. "Jack, have you been into the Taurean catnip again?"

The only reason Jack didn't start demanding that the man he was pinning against the door wasn't Ianto was because of the conversation he'd had with the Doctor. Different times. So it was possible, wasn't it? No, Jack wasn't even going to think about that one.

"Haven't touched the stuff. And considering this place doesn't have anything by way of decent coffee, I doubt there's Taurean catnip here." Jack glanced down at Ianto, placing a hand over one of his. He stood his ground, not letting Ianto duck away. Not until this was figured out. "Really, is this any way to great your Captain?" he asked, lifting an eyebrow. One corner of his mouth quirked upwards in a half-smile. "Which lends the question once more: what do you maean 'what the hell'?"

"You seem less confused than I," Ianto said, arching a brow. "What a change. Try not to get dizzy."

Mmm, that cleft chin of his fantasies was mere inches away, crying out to be nuzzled, but Ianto didn't move, not even in response to Jack's hand on his. "I would reverse the question, sir," he said in his most formal tone, in spite of the fact that one of his thighs was between Jack's and the body heat generating between them would have been enough to power the back-up generators at the Hub. "This doesn't exactly seem like the most appropriate way to greet a member of one's... staff."

"I've had three days here thus far to get settled in." And Ianto could take that as he would. "Seems like you're the one who is slightly touched." Jack's other hand lightly tapped Ianto's forehead, then set that hand on the other man's hip.

Jack arched a brow the moment he said the word 'sir'. "Really, Ianto, I thought we moved past the sir business. At least... said in the formal manner." There was the way it had been used in bed, but that had an entirely different tone to it. Jack had his body effectively pinned and it was only a slight rocking of his hips that accompanied Ianto's horrible line. "Would you believe I was just helping you find your room key?" he asked with a smirk.

"This isn't how I--" he cut himself off, closing his eyes to give himself a few seconds to gather his thoughts. Yeah, he wanted Jack. Of course he did. Who, in fact, didn't? But he didn't want it like this. "There's no lead up," he said, eyes still squeezed shut. "You haven't even bought me that bloody dinner you promised me yet."

He tried to slip sideways, away from Jack, but that just brought their bodies into closer, tighter proximity. "Jack. Let me go."

Oh for the love of... Jack fought the urge to bang his head against the door. "There was lead up," Jack protested. "And I did buy you dinner. And we went out on several dates, each of which was interrupted by a Weevil. Or that murder at the zoo..." Jack trailed off, shuddering ever so slightly. The date that had him winding up with a nearly severed foot. Not one of his fondest memories.

Still, Jack found himself moving back reluctantly, though still close enough so that Ianto couldn't get away from him that easily. "What is the last thing you remember?" Seemed like he was having this conversation quite a bit lately, wasn't he?

Ianto tried to think of any instances in the archives where people's fantasies-- was he really Jack's fantasy?-- had taken over their conscious minds. Apart from quite regular dementia, he couldn't place any.

Also, perhaps he shouldn't be subtly stroking Jack's... really quite nice pectoral just now. It was undermining his argument, not to mention his thought processes. "Jack, none of those things happened. I think perhaps... whatever it was that brought us here has accelerated your... um. Desires." His voice was already a steady baritone, but on the word 'desires' it dropped down an extra half-octave into an involuntary growl. "You only just asked me out before that mess with your dear friend John. There hasn't been time for any other shenanigans."
