Day One - Exploring the Dorms

Helena had been wandering for awhile before she finally worked out where the dorms were. She had got lost at first, the directions she had been given were way off, but had entertained herself enough with the strange surroundings. It looked, she was convinced, like the renaissance fair she had seen as a kid. A typical dream setting then, though she confessed not as appealing as the White Queen's City had been. She had stopped for a moment to try to get her bearings, then given up and just picked a random direction. She argued to herself that since it was her dream, then she should be able to find her way not matter what direction she picked. Amazingly, she ended up being right.

She reached the circle of buildings and stopped. There was a room number etched into the side of the key, telling her she was in the E dorm. Not 100% sure she was heading towards the right one, but going mainly on faith, she headed towards the closest building, her bunny slippers making a light scuffing noise as she walked.

Helena reached her door and slipped the key into the lock. She made a humphing sound, since the seemingly rude man was not following her. It didn't make sense either. If this was her dream, then how come people of her own invention were so quick to get rid of her?

She brushed yet another niggling thought out of her head and pushed open the door. It didn't budge. She tried again, this time the door gave way a little then stuck. Exasperated, she turned to yell to the tattooed guy down the hall, to see if he would give her a hand. What she wasn't expecting was for him to be right beside her.

Helena jumped and clutched at her heart, dropping the journal in the process. She glared at him for giving her such a fright, and stooped down to pick up the book, noticing vaguely that there was now writing inside.

"You shouldn't sneak up on people," she retorted, defencive as she always was when caught off guard. She deliberately avoided eyecontact when she turned back to the door. "It's stuck," she said, jerking a thumb at the door, the key still sticking out of the lock.
