Day One - Exploring the Dorms
Who: Helena and Cathal
When: Day One, midday
What: Helena explores the dorms
Where: City of Illusions, dorm E
Rating: Minor swearing is possible
Status: Incomplete

Helena had been wandering for awhile before she finally worked out where the dorms were. She had got lost at first, the directions she had been given were way off, but had entertained herself enough with the strange surroundings. It looked, she was convinced, like the renaissance fair she had seen as a kid. A typical dream setting then, though she confessed not as appealing as the White Queen's City had been. She had stopped for a moment to try to get her bearings, then given up and just picked a random direction. She argued to herself that since it was her dream, then she should be able to find her way not matter what direction she picked. Amazingly, she ended up being right.

She reached the circle of buildings and stopped. There was a room number etched into the side of the key, telling her she was in the E dorm. Not 100% sure she was heading towards the right one, but going mainly on faith, she headed towards the closest building, her bunny slippers making a light scuffing noise as she walked.

He could hear her scuffling after him and he frowned. He didn't want her around. He didn't want anyone around. He would put them all in danger, he was sure of it. He shifted his eyes to glance down at her as she joined him at his side. "The question is, do I have a choice?" He had a feeling that this one was going to be persistent. He didn't know who this "Pingo" was, and he didn't care. "Most girls have a lousy sense of direction."

His eyes glanced back up to catch the numbers on the doors they were passing and then looked down at the key in his hand to make sure he was going in the right direction. 121 was the room he needed. They'd just passed 115 and all the doors on the right side of the hall seemed to be the odd numbers. His room was just three more doors down, if he was correct, and he usually was. He glanced at her, but didn't say anything. Just looked back at his door and put his key in the lock. Although these keys were different from those he was used to (they were much smaller and thinner), he knew what to do with it and he unlocked the door.

The door swung open to reveal a room that was not exactly what he was expecting. But then, he didn't really know what to expect. It was sparsely furnished with a bed, a bedside table, a lamp, a dresser with a television on it, a table and a few chairs. He frowned, his brow furrowing. With a sigh, he reached for the door and closed it again without bothering to venture inside. It was strange, and he was happy enough knowing where it was. He didn't need to get familiar with the odd bedroom. "Well, what's your number?"

Helena just scoffed at his comment about her lack of direction. She dealt with comments like that before, but found that arguing with a shovanist was about as entertaining as headbutting a wall. Instead she poked her tounge out at him when his attention was diverted, and followed him quietly.

Just before he unlocked the door, he glanced down at Helena. She locked eyes for just a moment and her breath caught. There was something incredibly... intense about him. When he turned back to the door she pushed the thought away, putting it down to the tattoos that she could see under his hood.

Helena poked her head around to get a look into the room, but the man closed it again before she could enter. She stood shocked for a moment, then turned to him slightly huffy. Holding up the key, she read the etched number out loud. "109. We must have passed it." She turned away from him and headed off down the corridor, obviously irritated, or as irritated as someone could be wearing pj's and bunny slippers.
