Who: Willow & Tara
When: Day 3, Morning.
Where: Fair Grounds around the breakfast tent.
What: Bumping into each other.
Rating: PG
Status: Complete.

Willow woke that morning having temporarily forgetting where she was. At first all she knew was that the sun was pouring in through the crack in the curtains and was being awfully rude for intruding on her shut eye. She let out a groan into her pillow when a sudden flush of memories hit her that she would rather have forgotten. Sleep had been so nice and she couldn't remember the last time she dreamed of anything but her lost lover, and frankly she would rather stay there in the land of the unconscious mind.

Opening her eye she sighed heavily, it was day three in this strange world, that seemed to be an elaborate illusion. She had meet a few people and it wasn't totally bad. But still being trapped for some power hungry self proclaimed Goblin King's amusement wasn't sitting well but it was looking like there might not be anything she could do about it. She pulled her still tired body from the warmth of the sheets, thinking that it was best to get dressed and feel the warm air, also fill her stomach with food.

Walking and nature were always things that made her feel better, though she wasn't sure how much of this place was even natural. The closet had been filled with clothing that mirrored her own which was at least a little comforting. She pulled on the blue fuzzy sweater she loved so much, it even smelled like home, with it a deep red skirt.

Taking a breath she looked in the mirror at her oval face and medium length red hair, she looked like Willow but somewhere behind her green eyes there was something missing. She turned then made her way out the door and down the stone steps. A strange feeling washed over her body that was a little familiar, dark magic. It was almost overwhelming but she now had a bit of an immunity to it, so she could block it from running her sense of center.

She seemed to be the only one up at this hour, the tents where things were set up for the Renaissance fair seemed quite, almost a little too still. At least this was better then being couped up in her room. However Willow spotted something in the distance, a figure, that was blocked by the sun so she couldn't get a good look but she thought it was female. “Um Hello?” She questioned putting her hand up to block the sun from shining in her eyes.

There were two voices in here head fighting telling her things she could do right now, one side was telling her to stay there kissing the ground and praying, preying for some sort of end to it all, something fast and she didn't care if it was painless, this was the darkness she had been fighting off over the last three and a half months was singing it's song into her ear, or so she thought.

The other voice however was a warm one, the parts of her that told herself to breath and pull it together, the place deep inside herself where she kept her love, love for her friends who doubled as her family, the love of all the nice things she liked to surround herself with but most importantly this was the place where Tara had been kept inside of her, her girlfriends spirit had acted as a guide for her while she was in London, she was sure of it.

Slowly she took the tissue from the other woman's hand, she didn't look at her just yet but gently wiped her eyes burring the pain inside where it belonged, she would be ok. Something very different washed over her now like a gentle warm wave once the other had touched her and immediately she knew she would be ok. The touching hushed her sobbing, and Willow pushed her longer red locks back behind her ear. Her normal bright green eyes were dark and just about lifeless as she looked into the face of her lover.

“Y-Your..alive?” Willow blinked and reached out towards her blonde lover, gripping her by the arms pulling her as close as she could to herself, arms tightly embracing the one she had lost so many mornings ago. “Warren killed you, he was out for Buffy and a stray bullet hit you insteed, I saw the blood, it hit my shirt a-and you fell. G-gone, no more Tara. A-and, and w-we buried you. I-couldn't handle the pain Baby, I did what you tried to warn me about, so consumed with revenge, so very dark, I lost it and shamed you, doing so many bad bad things, the darkness sang so sweetly to me and I was too weak to ignore it all.”

She was rambling, her voice was shaky as well as the rest of her but she managed to keep her arms wrapped around her lovers body, or what felt like her lovers body, what smelled like her lovers body. “Oh goddess! Tara, I should have listened to you. I'm so sorry, really, really I am.” Maybe this was all some dream, some dream where she could get closure wrapped in the arms of the woman she swore to love to the very end of time and beyond. “I-I nearly killed everyone.”

Watching Willow was heart wrenching and Tara could feel her stomach turning from all of the pain the redhead was fighting through. What was going on? What had happened? Was this really her Willow? None of this was making any sense. Was it the effects of the black magic in the area? Was something making her hallucinate? Was it the food? Was this all some terrible nightmare that she had dreamt up somehow because of all the agonizing she’d been going through trying to figure out what to do with their cracked and fragile relationship? When their energies combined the blond witch nearly felt as though she had been sucker punched in the gut. ‘Dear Goddess.’ Waiting for a moment Tara weighed her options, she wanted to desperately to comfort the other woman, but what if this wasn’t Willow? What if that was the wrong thing to do? What if this was a trap? Willow seemed so… Different. So lifeless, so pained, so … gone.

Meeting the redhead’s gaze Tara forced a weak smile to her face, unsure what else to do she nodded. “Y-yes. Much with the living.” Feeling Willow grip her arm startled the blond slightly for a moment before she realized exactly what had to be going on. Pausing for only a brief second Tara then slipped her arms around Willow as well returning the hug. Willow babble then hit her ears and Tara’s brain raced to keep up and process all of it. “K-killed me?” Soft words were emitted and Tara leaned back slightly trying to better look at Willow shock becoming more and more clear over her face as Willow continued to speak. “W-Willow… What… What did you do? Nearly-nearly killed everyone? What are you talking about?” The shock was clear in her voice as well as the blond witch’s mind scrambled in attempts to put all the pieces together even though none of them were even remotely fitting in any way.

This was just too much Willow had no idea what was going on and why Tara was in front of her now with no recollection of the things that went on. She calmed herself a little but still kept holding tightly to the other woman's body. It was like just grasping the other she had a strong sense of ease over power her. “A-After we got back together we spent all night making up, that's the morning it happened, everything was so very perfect and warm. Then Warren came on his mission from hell to take out “The Slayer” He hit her with one causing a small injury but the next bullet, it hit you in our room.” The scene was flooding her mind like a horror movie. “The last thing you said was “Your shirt.” And that was it..I-lost you for what I thought was forever.” She was still very distraught and having a hard time getting all the details out but she still manged.

“When it was over I-I lost control of myself, of my power, I had to get revenge and became very addicted to dark and powerful magic, I wasn't myself at all, I killed Warren, I hurt so many people in the process, somehow managed to feel all the pain and suffering in the world and was dead set on setting of the apocalypse.” She took a breath. “Xander, Xander stopped me because of yellow crayons and being my best friend since pre-school. If it wasn't for his love, it would all be over.” Willow sucked in the pain though tears were still falling over her red cheeks. “Giles took me to London and with the help of a coven I regained my control...I was on my way home when all this happened, I was sucked off the plane and to here, where ever here is. I've been to Hell and this is far from it.”

Willow was very numb right now, breathing heavily and doing her best to get a grip on whatever reality she was sitting in, though that was turning out to be more of a chore then necessary. "I-I know what your thinking, that this couldn't be true or that I'm not really who I say I am but-but I am..you'd just have to trust me baby." She closed her eyes and consecrated very hard once she opened her eyes again she looked deep into Tara's eyes and Tara would be able to see the flicker of love and passion that was always there for Tara and the ones she loved. "I-I've made some really bad mistakes.." Willow was totally exhauster there was nothing more she could do or say right now so she just held onto her love.

All of this news was further shocking the blonde witch. As she listened to Willow slowly and painfully recant the whole story she could feel her heart breaking. It all had to be so terribly painful. All those things that Tara had warned Willow against with magic and being weak sometimes. Had all those warnings fallen on deaf ears? Wait… Something seemed wrong in this story though. They hadn’t gotten back together. There had been hints about it but neither of them had said anything about it. Though how could she be sure this was the real Willow? If it was a fake Willow she could make up anything she wanted. Tara had been thinking very hard on her and Willow’s relationship and after that mess with Buffy just a few days before… Tara had been leaning towards getting back with Willow, even if she wasn’t sure yet it did look like a strong possibility.

Thoughts continued to battle in her head as Tara remained silent. This was a horror story, the thing Tara had feared. Though the blond witch never thought Willow would do anything harmful on purpose, it was addiction that lead people down bad roads, made good people do things they never would have even thought of if they had full control of them selves. However if this was the truth… If that was really what had happened, then it would explain the pain and tinge of darkness. For we never fully free our selves of the things we’ve done in our lives, especially if they were as fresh as Willow seemed to be saying they were. Wait… How long did it take Willow to go through all of that? There were so many questions and just as Tara was summing up the nerve to response Willow opened her mouth again.

Listening the redhead before her all Tara could seem to muster was a slow nod as she locked eyes with Willow. All of the words, all of this story, all of this… pain. Had knocked the words right out of her. There was so much emotion swirling around it was making her head spin. What do you say to someone who just told you they watched you die and then tried to kill the world because they were in so much pain over losing you? Taking in a few breaths she tried to let her mind compute everything she had just been backhanded with.

“The… The last thing I remember before my walk the other morning is that the night before I was saving Dawnie, Xander and you from a crazied Buffy who didn’t know up from down. Then you walking me back to the dorms after because you were so worried about that tumble I took down the stairs.” What else could she say? There… wasn’t anything else that was coming to mind at this point. It was all so strange and dreamlike. Was this really real? How could it be?

Willow felt as if she could just stay there holding on to Tara and sink peacefully into the earth or sucked into whatever ether would have her. There was not a part of her body that felt any energy in it, she was drained and exhausted, she also wasn't sure if she could stand up, but right now that was not an option. The story fell from her lips giving as much details to the event as possible with out breaking down completely again. She was sure Tara would let go of her and run, run away from her not being able to look at the shell of the woman Tara had fallen in love with. Willow felt ashamed of herself, the awful things she had done, especially looking into the eyes of the woman who had put trust back into her.

The tears were dry leaving her insides numb, trying to deal with the things that were going on were making her feel nauseated. A sharp pain was also throbbing in her head as if someone had shoved a blade through her right eye sending it through her skull but she did her best to stay on the other Wicca's words. She said nothing and waited until Tara had completely finished, she took this time to compose herself breathing slow and deeply as she could to not totally pass out.

She gasped as she heard the huge difference in their time lines, how was that possible? How was Tara alive? and talking to her was a bigger question. She didn't have any answers right now but once she got a grip on herself again she was going to get to the bottom of it and fast too before more crazy things started to happen. Willow closed her eyes and rubbed the throbbing sides of her head then pushed back her now longer red hair behind her ears. “Tara..that, that was almost seven months ago...the next day we went for coffee and got back together, then spent the night..our very last night.” The last part was almost inaudible.

Another sharp pain sliced through her head Willow let out a scream of agony, she reached out for Tara's arm but instead caught a hold of nothing, vanishing from Tara's sight. This felt worse but similar to what had happened whens he was brought here in the first place, the sensation was like the hideous Disney ride where they send you up so many floors in an elevator with a dead fast drop to the bottom in about three seconds. Matter crushing like a garbage compactor against all sides of her body, she tired to brace the fall.

The witch really had no idea what was going on but soon came in harsh contact with a hard surface. Willow groaned in agony before flickering here eyes open, her blurry vision told her she was back in her room on the floor. Her fall had taken out one of the tables and her things were scattered around the room looking as if a hurricane had blown through. She decided for now to rest on the floor for a little while and later undress and slip into bed.

Tara continued to keep her arms wrapped around the other woman even though things seem far too strange to actually be happening. Brows furrowed in confusion when ‘Willow’ ‘corrected’ when things had happened. “You just walked me home yesterday.... We haven’t had coffee…In a long time.” The words were almost pained. How Tara had missed her and Willow’s coffee dates, it had been another piece of the very complicated billion piece puzzle she had been trying to work on just the day before she got sucked into this new place. When was the last time they had, had coffee? It must have been before she had moved out of Buffy’s house. Tara wasn’t dead, she was right here… Why was Willow so insistent upon this. Though Willow did look very different… How could Willow look so different? Be so different? What the heck was going on?

The sudden scream of pain caused Tara to snap out of her bafflement as eyes went wide and she feared for the worse. “WILLOW!” The name was called in fear and concern but in the blink of an eye somehow the other woman was no longer there. “What in the world…?” The words slipped out of her mouth were low and barely inaudiable except to her self. Blue eyes searched her arms and hands for traces of the woman who had just been held in them. For a clue, any hint as to what could possibly be going on, but nothing seemed to come. No clue, no hint, no magical solution. Sitting on the ground a few moments longer Tara managed to gather together her bearings before standing. Even though physically she took several steps to remove her self from the event that had just happened her mind remained flooded with questions. Had what just happened been real? Was it some illusion of the dark magic? Was it an omen of things to come? A trick being played by this Jareth character? Could it have possibly been real? If it was real, how could that have happened? As thoughts raced Tara’s mind quickly became hazy and drained. The lack of sleep she’d experienced since getting here really was taking a lot out of her… Maybe that was it, maybe she was hallucinating from lack of sleep and the imposed pressure of all the black magic. Though it sure didn’t feel like a hallucination.

Making her way back to her dorm room after what felt like an eternity Tara collapsed into her bed and feel deeply asleep. Too bad when she awoke her sleep fogged mind would be able to make even less sense of the entire situation later on that day.
