"Pooka, get back here!" Anya scolded, hurrying as quietly as she could after the dog. Dimitri and Vlad were discussing how far she'd come in her 'Anastasia Lessons', and she really hadn't wanted to hear it. The thought of pretending to be someone's granddaughter made her a little sick, to be honest. But apparently exploring the woods of Germany on her own wasn't recommended, either. Mostly because she had a mischievous little gray mutt with her. As alike as the two of them were, Pooka was bound to get her in trouble sooner or later.

Sighing, she ducked under a tree branch, still tailing the little dog. "Dimitri's going to skin us both if you make me late," she babbled out loud, knowing the dog couldn't understand her. If he could even hear her. "They'll think I've gone off and left them and then how am I supposed to get to Paris, hmm? Walk there? That'll be attractive, I'm sure!"

She was so lost in her monologue that she hadn't noticed the shimmering light the dog had gone through. From a distance, it had merely looked like a sunshine-filled break in the trees. But as she passed through it, Anya immediately knew there was something different. More colors. More room. And... And the smell of sweets?

Eyes darting up, Anya gasped. It was honestly like nothing she'd ever seen before, not even in her daydreams. The trees weren't the ones she'd just been in. They couldn't be. They were brown, yes, but... "Chocolate?" she yelped. Bushes made of peppermint twists? This was completely insane. Maybe she really had finally snapped and gone mad.

Apparently even the little dog beside her had been caught by surprise, because Pooka stopped his mad dash run and stared in awe. Before he could go getting into something else, she scooped him up, looking around a bit more. Though she'd never played, she'd swear she was standing next to a giant chess board. Larger-then-life pieces with that queen piece and the knight and the little one with the round top whose name she couldn't remember all stood displayed proudly on the black and white squares.

This? Was so not normal. And the light she'd passed through to get there was gone. There wasn't any sign of the trees she'd just passed. "Oh... Ooooh, no, this is so not happening. Not here, not now, why?"

As Anya stumbled over answering the question about her name, Brennan raised an eyebrow and blinked at her. Most people were pretty sure about their names. But, there had been a point in her own life where she'd been certain about her name only to find out it was not the name she had been born with. She was Joy Keenan once.

Brennan nodded, finally able to answer a question about herself. "Yes." She answered proudly and then narrowed her brows when Anya was disbelieving because she was a woman. "I am the best forensic anthropologist in my field, actually. My gender has no bearing on my skill." It was becoming increasingly clear that Anya was from a time when women didn't hold positions of importance. Women probably couldn't even vote where she was from. She cut her gaze to Gabrielle. "I'm not that kind of doctor. I have a doctorate in the field of anthropology. I study bones, try to figure out why someone died or how they were killed."

The two women answered her as to their locations and Brennan was familiar with both places. "Of course Russia is on Earth. Where else would it be? There's no sustainable life on other planets." Even if Hodgins would disagree with her, there still hadn't been any proof. "Greece?" She looked at her again and then nodded. She could tell from her bone structure that she was telling the truth. From the garb the blond wore she could also tell that it was ancient Greece. She would have to ask her about the Gods of that time at some point. She'd once commented that no one believed in Zeus anymore, but maybe this one did.

Brennan couldn't have been more startled to see the goblins run up to them. She stared at the creature for a moment. It was trying to give her a book and a key but she was mesmerized. She couldn't begin to think that it was real. It had to be a hallucination, but she'd never seen anything like it before. The little goblin continued to thrust the book and key at her. When she still didn't take it, it got visibly upset and threw them at her feet, then turned and stomped off. She shook herself and crouched to pick up the key and the book. She wanted to study those things a little more. They had humanoid skeletons, but they were so ugly and disfigured and so small. She really wanted to study their bones, mostly, but she found the outside just as fascinating for once.

"What--what was that?"
