Who:: Shiloh, Rudolf, and Der Tod
What: Shiloh needs a doctor
When: Morning
Where: Her room to start...not sure where after that
Rating: PG-13
Status: Incomplete

Shiloh layed on her bed holding her body close to herself in a sort of ball. She was shaking and felt as if she had a fever. Her white nightgown was soaked in sweat and she had left her wig on one of the plastic heads that rested on her dresser. Whoever brought her here was nice enough to give her some wigs but she still preferred her long black one.

Rotti said her father had been keeping her sick to be sure she would stay in the house. He said that the so called medicine was actually what was giving her the symptoms of a blood disease; including the loss of all her hair. Shiloh had been a little worried when she didn't grow her hair back right away. Now that she was running a fever and shaking she was starting to wonder how much of what Rotti said was the truth? It wasn't until she was writing in her journal asking for a doctor did she even think of the possibility of withdraw. She had been relying on the 'medicine' since she was born. Her father had kept her locked in her room for seventeen years. Surely the sudden loss of the pills was causing this. At least she prayed it was withdraw and not a disease...</i>

Der Tod raised a single eyebrow at Rudolf's introduction. Granted, he had masqueraded as a doctor when in the palace, if only to give himself a reason to be there. A cover. Not that people noticed him if he didn't want to be noticed. Humans were remarkably talented at not noticing when Death walked their halls.

But here was the boy, with an obviously sick girl, expecting him to help. He gave a mental sigh, and pulled the door open the whole way, gesturing for both of them to enter. He couldn't drop that act, not now.

"Come in" he sang, "You can rest here" He indicated the bed, trusting Rudolf to help the girl lay down as he shut the door.

Shiloh offered the man in the doorway and awkward smile, "It's nice to meet you." she said/sang as she went to offer him her hand. She pulled it back though when he opened the door further for her to enter. Her awkward smile grew in thanks to Der Tod. Someone might be able to help! She really did hope that it was just withdraw she was feeling. She had been on the medicine for sixteen years only to suddenly go cold turkey the past couple of days. It was bound to take it's sudden toll.

She moved inside and with the help of Rudolf she lay back onto the bed he had gestured to. Before doing so she removed her wig and set it on the night-side table.

Rudolf helped guide Shiloh over to the bed, keeping a close eye on her, in case she faltered. He said nothing when she took her wig off - it would be rude to mention - and helped her settle herself on the mattress, propping up the pillow for her. He stepped back, leaving his friend space to examine the girl.

He looked to his dearest friend. "Is there anything you need?" he sang/asked. Rudolf wasn't exactly sure what he might need or where it might be found, but if the other man needed some sort of instrumentation, Rudolf would go hunt down one of the odd goblins and demand whatever was needed.

Der Tod moved in to sit on the edge of the bed so he could better examine Shiloh. Not that he had much in the way of medical knowledge, despite what Rudolf believed. Still he could and would play along. The girl probably had little more than a minor flu or some such, the type of thing that rest and fluids could cure. And if not? Well, he wouldn't mind.

"How's your pulse?" he sang, gently picking up her wristt. Her skin felt warm, but then again, most people's did to him, just as his felt cold. Underneath her skin he could feel her heartbeat racing, though not dangerously so. He let the wrist fall, and lay the back his hand across her forehead. "You're feverish" he commented before removing his hand. He glanced over at the discarded wig and back at Shiloh, with a raised eyebrow. That could be the result of a deeper, more serious - and thus more interesting- condition, but he wouldn't ask.

"Damp cloths. And cool water" he sang to Rudolf, without looking at the boy. Both should be easy enough to find, but would at least get him out of the room. The last thing Der Tod wanted was someone, anyone hanging over his shoulder while he played doctor.

Shiloh shrugged at Der Tod, "Er..." she started to say but cut herself off as he lifted her wrist. When he let it go she let it fall onto the side of the bed and did not move it. Having someone that was not her father examine her was a taking a bit more for her to get used to than she had thought. At his statment in regards to her fever she reached up and touched her forehead as if she needed to check it herself. She knew she was feverish, she could feel it beneath her skin. She was just so nervous about having this man examine her.

She did see him raise an eyebrow to her wig and embarassment soon was visible on her face but Shiloh did not jump up to tell him her long story. Though she thought he might need to know pieces of it in regards to her health, but she was not going to offer the dark tale. It was not something she wanted to relive anytime soon.

Der Tod barely nodded as Rudolf left, thankful the boy hadn't questioned the simplicity of the request. Both things could easily be gotten in the room itself, but trust Rudolf to assume he had to find them elsewhere. Amusing as always.

But there was a young woman in front of him, expecting him to doctor her, and he supposed he should do something about that. "Is this sudden or lasting?" he sang, gently caressing her forehead and scalp with one hand. His skin was cold enough to provide the girl some relief from the heat of her fever while he figured more of what might help. The irony was not lost on him.

It's just like Sophie, he told himself. He'd attended that miserable old woman for several years just to keep her alive so she could continue making Elisabeth's life miserable. And in the end, he'd collected her too. As he'd collect this girl eventually. Just not now.

"Have you eaten?" he asked.

"The pain now is sudden." Shiloh did her best to explain, "I believed for seventeen years that I had a blood disease...it turned out my father had been keeping me sick. I stopped taking the medicine but nothing has gotten better...it has gotten worse." the last part of the sentence she said/sang a little quietly and sad.

Shiloh liked the feel of the man's cold skin. It felt good against her hot forehead. The simple caress was enough to make her feel comforted as well. She missed her father's sweet touch. She shook her head at his question, "Not today, no."

"Ah" Der Tod said, nodding slightly. This he understood. Many drugs, if suddenly stopped could cause all sorts of interesting reactions. "Were you feeling sick before you stopped taking the medication." She'd said she'd started feeling worse, but mortals could be so painfully vague. He gave her a reassuring smile.

"Ah, if I'd realized you hadn't eaten, I'd have asked Rudolf do bring you something. There is little use in starving yourself"
