Day 10
Who: Cathal and Alexandra
What: First Meetings
When: Early Evening
Where: The Game Booths
Rating: TBA
Status: Incomplete

Cathal had arranged with Tonks and Marcus to go through the maze the next day. He was glad for the opportunity to finally be doing something about his situation, but he was fidgety in the meantime. He'd seen the various booths throughout the park where faceless employees shouted at them to play games. A ring toss, shooting a clown with a water cannon, fishing for rubber ducks, racing horses with another water cannon, throwing balls at rotating mannequins. They all seemed very mundane, but it was something to keep him occupied at least.

He wore his cloak, but the hood was hanging down his back, exposing the tattoos on his face and shorn head. He wore a billowy tunic and leather pants tucked into heavy leather boots. He thought it incredibly convenient that the clothing he needed appeared in the chest at the foot of his bed every day. The running water in the bathroom was also incredibly convenient. He enjoyed the privacy of bathing alone and the ease with which the porcelain sculpture removed his waste.

He had to wonder if it was magic, but it didn't feel magic. It felt strange and odd, but not magical. The way his clothes appeared was magical, but he supposed that the bathroom equipment was simply an advent of the times. He shook his head as the faceless being in front of him set three balls down on the counter and stepped back. Cathal aimed at one of the targets and threw with deadly accuracy. The target went over backwards and the next two followed suit. He was handed a small stuffed elephant which caused a curl to form on his lips.

Alex eyed the elephant and the man holding it. It was an interesting sight to see, though she didn't take the toy. "It's your winning." she stated bluntly the obvious. "I'll win my own if I so choose."

To make a point she pushed back her bright pink and black hair away from her face and went to the booth he was just standing at. She accepted the three balls that were placed before her and picked one up. Honestly she didn't know what she was doing. Sports had never truly been her forte. Though when it came to making a point to someone she had no hesitation of using all in her favor.

Thinking up a quick spell for herself she aimed and threw the ball hoping it would work. The spell took it's affect and the ball hit its target with accuracy, knocking it over. As was the same result for the following two balls.

The creature offered her a small blue elephant as well. She picked hers up and threw the man a See, what now? sort of look and went back over to him. "What's your name?" she asked him. Normally she would have left after her winnings came through but the man with the many tattoos intriqued her for some reason.

Cathal's brow hitched up slightly at her cheek and after a moment, he lifted his shoulder and set the elephant on the counter. He was not about to walk around with such a strange thing in his hands. Absolutely not. She seemed hell bent on making the point that she could win her own stuffed animal and he stepped back to watch her.

Although she appeared slightly uncertain, she aimed with accuracy and came away with her own elephant. He drew his brows together and he wasn't entirely sure why she'd felt the need to prove that she could win one of the stupid things as easily as he could. He was slightly impressed with her skill, but not with the way in which she handled it. He drew his broad arms up over his chest and crossed them.

She was straightforward, and while he appreciated it, he wasn't exactly used to women being so blunt. "Cathal." That was all she was really going to get out of him as far as his name went. "What is your name?" He returned the question with as much bluntness as she'd asked. He didn't have a burning desire to know it, but he found that he wanted to rankle her. It was a defense mechanism, he knew, but it worked most of the time.

He moved toward the next booth although he kept her in his sights. This booth was a test of one's fishing skill. He was handed a small fishing pole with a large magnet attached and he figured he was supposed to try catching some of the ducks that moved along in a watery track.

"Cathal? That's an interesting name. Where you from?" she held out hand suddenly, remembering his question, "I'm Alex." she continued to follow him to the next booth, still hanging on to her own elephant, simply because she had nothing better to do that day and figured she was curious about the guy with the interesting name and tattoos.

Being her usual 'speak before thinking' self she ended up blurting it out, "So...what's with all the tattoos?" she watched as he took the small fishing pole and try to catch some of the ducks. It seemed like a game she could handle but chose to just lean on the side of the booth and watch him play.

"Eire." The short version. But that was usually his way. There were no elaborate tales or stories from him. He had no intention of getting to know this girl, but her questions were harmless enough for now. He answered them without pause. He looked at her hand and took it, shaking it briefly before releasing it. He would remember her name, but likely never use it.

This new question was less harmless, and he had to think about it for a moment before he answered her. But he did so in a rather irritating way. "What's with the strange hair?" He slid his gaze toward her for a moment and then returned it to the game in front of him. The game was relatively easy and he was offered another stuffed animal, a shark this time. He shook his head and handed the pole back to the faceless employee and turned to Alex with his arms crossed over his chest.

"You ask a lot of questions."

Alex nodded as if she knew what the hell he was talking about when, in reality, she had no idea what the hell 'Eire' was. Then again she was learning that there were people from all over the place in this...different...world. Alex let out a heavy breath of air as she tried to shift through her mind, yet again, ways to possibly go home. She was still caught in the idea that this could all be some crazy-ass dream and she would find herself back in the room she shared with Cam any minute now...

Cathal's question to hers pulled her back to what was going on in front of her. A small smirk formed on her face as she shrugged in answer. If he wasn't going to answer hers why should she answer his?

She moved to lean on the new counter, with her arms folded over her stomach, still holding the elephant, and watched him play. He won another animal but rejected it. Alex wondered why he was bothering playing the games if he did not even want any of the prizes.

Again she shrugged at his new statment. "And...?" she said, "So what...they're harmless, I'm bored, I'm curious, and I'm sorta just buying my time until I end up waking up from this crazy dream and back in my sister's room."

Cathal eyed her with a mixture of curiosity and mistrust. This girl was almost as spunky as Clodagh and that idea brought with it a rush of emotion he wasn't entirely prepared to accept. "Where are you from?" It was only fair since she had asked him the question and he had answered. And he supposed if he wanted to know what was up with her hair he was going to have to give something of himself away.

"I belong to a special band of warriors, this is how we identify ourselves. Everyone knows we come from Inis Eala if we have these tattoos on our faces." He lifted a brow, as if to ask happy now? He nodded once more toward her hair. "How do you get it that way, anyway?" He had met Tonks and her hair had been changed by magic. He wondered if that was the case for her, too.

"Questions can get you hurt, especially if you ask the wrong ones." He moved on to another booth and this time tried tossing rings around the mouth of a milk bottle. He was fairly successful at this and was offered another prize, which he also declined. He could tell she was wondering why he would play if he didn't want the reward. "It's something to do, and I have no use for toys."

"That depends on how specific ya want it." Alex tried to answer his question. What the hell? It's not like it can do much harm here. she thought as she began to let the truth come out of her, "I was born on Coventry but then taken away to Montana...flown to Salem to live with a twin sister I never knew I had, some days while visiting Coventry on the others."

As Cathal explained he was part of a band of warriors her eyes went wide and she raised her eyebrows in an I sorta believe you way. Ah hell who was she kidding? She had so far met a witch from a wizarding universe and Prince Caspian who she was sure was supposed to remain in Cam's copy of Narnia.

"Band of warriors." she let out a small laugh, "Hate to tell ya that I don't have a story as epic as that." she shrugged simply and pushed herself off of the counter, "I just use hair dye. A mess of chemicals to make my brown hair blonde then another mess to paint it a different color. This will only last until I end up washing it out in the shower." Alex made a face. Though she often wished the color would last she always loved changing it up when she noticed it was fading significantly.

Alex followed Cathal to the next game and watched him toss rings around milk bottles. "You won't hurt me and I don't plan on asking any deep-seeded questions that will bring up rough times for ya." she said as she watched him play. When he rejected yet another prize she threw him a look but chose to not say anything but rather hold up her hands, "Hey, whatever floats your boat man."

"I'm not familiar with those places." He stopped playing the game for a moment to look at her. "How do you not know you have a twin sister?" Children being taken from their parents or other family was nothing foreign or shocking to him, but he had known twins. They shared a bond that other siblings didn't. They could communicate on levels others couldn't. He found it strange that she wouldn't have known about her sister.

He almost smirked at her surprised look. Back home he never got a look like that. Everyone knew by his markings that he was part of Johnny's warriors. They were used to it. "I'm not sure there is anything epic about being a warrior." He went back to the game at hand and tossed a few more rings at the bottles. He missed a couple of times, but he usually made it.

He wasn't familiar with chemicals either, but it sounded substantial. Not like magic. Something she had to do manually. He was more comfortable with that than the idea of magic. He was half-fae and magic was almost revolting to him. He had a little at his disposal, but using it reminded him of who his father was and he hated it.

"You're right. Perhaps I won't hurt you, but that doesn't mean someone else won't." He gave her a sideways glance as she spoke about bringing up rough times. She'd already done that plenty and they hadn't even known each other a whole day. He rolled his eyes and moved on to the next booth. This one was tossing ping pong balls into small containers of water. This one was more difficult because the balls bounced off the rims of the containers in all kinds of directions. This one he might be at for a while, there was nothing he liked more than a challenge.

"Well I have no idea where Eire is to be honest with you. Montana, Massachusetts and Coventry are in the United States. Back on Earth?" Alex tried to offer the description but had never had to explain what Earth was to someone before. She was sure she wasn't explaining it right.

Alex let out an awkward laugh in regards to Cam. "Er well...short version? My uncle killed our father on the night we were born...a cousin though it best to seperate us. So...I didn't know until Cam, my sister, visited the theme park I worked at in Montana. The second I saw her I knew but before that...I always thought the mom I had was my mom." she shrugged and let out an awkward sigh. That was the longest speach about her life she had ever made. Alex wasn't one to talk about her life.

She shrugged at Cathal's comment. Alex had found the warrior story interesting and epic. A lot better than her answer of chemicals. Alex follosed him to the next booth clearly unaware about what she was bringing up or how annoying it must have been for Cathal to have this crazy-haired girl following him around. "Meh..." she said and waved her hand in the air about someone else hurting her. It wasn't like she couldn't defend herself with magic or fighting if she needed to, "I can hold my own if someone chose to mess with me."

The United States was before his time, as was calling the planet they lived on Earth. His time was even before Columbus discovering that the world was round. He just shook his head and lifted a shoulder. In all honesty, he couldn't tell her where Eire was either, except..."It's near Britain, if that helps." He had known people who had traveled there, Johnny's father was technically from there and Clodagh's grandfather, too.

Cathal raised an eyebrow when she gave him the rundown on the twin separation. Funny, his father had killed his mother when he was just a boy. He hadn't known that until much later, of course, but he could relate on a certain level to having a parent killed. "I see." He wasn't the sympathetic type and there was something awkward about speaking of death and family.

He looked her over, from head to foot. He decided that she might be able to put up a struggle, but if his father ever decided to come to this place, he could probably hurt her pretty badly. "You might be a little too confident in your abilities to defend yourself." Even he, who posessed magical ability could do nothing against his father's power. It was too great. The only thing he had been able to do was withstand it for a time, but he could never fight against it.

He continued to ply the water filled containers with ping pong balls until he won another prize. By that time he was pretty much done with the booths, though. He turned to face her and crossed his arms. He wondered if she was going to follow him around all day. She was somewhat less annoying than some people, but he preferred to be alone. If he had to have someone following him around, though, he didn't mind her. He was actually starting to kind of like her.

Alex nodded in understanding. "Ok...near Britain it is." she muttured though she was sure the closest thing to Britain was Scotland. "I don't think I've ever been ther though."

"You don't know me so I'll let that slide." she responded to his comment on her ability to defend herself. Alex was stronger than she looked and had her abilities as well as magic on her side. Hearing people's thoughts and being able to move things with her mind was enough in a fight. Her other abilities and magic was always just a little extra. Still Alex brushed it off since Cathal didn't know her and was probably basing it off on the fact she was half his height and of slender build.

When Cathal turned and simply crossed his arms Alex was unsure of what to say. When he still didn't say anything Alex copied him and crossed her arms. "What?"
