It was a sad state of affairs when she would wish for the company of Severus Snape. She'd never really liked him, and the events that had happened all those months ago on Mirage had left their mark on her. But she needed Snape right now, that was the simple truth. She didn't know of any Healers on the Planet, and Snape, while a greasy, unpleasant git, was someone who could probably help her. But he'd disappeared, and it was most inconvienant at the moment.

For the last few months, Tonks had been feeling rather ill. At first, she'd tried to ignore it and hoped it would go away. Eventually, though, she'd been forced to seek out the unpleasant Potions Master. Only to find he'd disappeared, which was beyond annoying. Still, what else could she do? But she was so tired all the time. Still, she'd likely just caught some sort of Muggle illness, and left it at that. It would pass, she figured.

Still, it had been going on for awhile now. But it hadn't impacted her life that much, and she almost thought it was starting to get better. The throwing up had stopped, anyway, and the tiredness seemed better. Maybe she would recover. Still, it couldn't hurt to have talked to Professor Snape about it. But since that couldn't happen, she tried her best to forget about it.

One day, though, which was not so very different from any other day, she was simply minding her own business when everything changed. She thought maybe she would seek out Marcus, when a black hole opened up in front of her. She didn't even have time to scream. In fact, she barely did anything but think to herself Merlin, here we go again... before she was being sucked down into it.

She landed on a grassy lawn and looked around. It was a strange place, almost sparkly, and she frowned as her dark eyes took everything in. The tents, the jousting, the general activity... and then it occured to her just what had happened. She gasped, and then shook her head. "...Marcus... no!"" She gradually came to understand all the implications, and for some odd reason, found herself rather dizzy. She fought it off, though, and set her jaw determinedly. She was going to get back to her lover. There was just no other way she would accept things.

All she had to do was figure out how. Someone was walking by nearby, and she called out to her. "Excuse me, can you please explain where I am? This isn't Mirage, is it?"

Tonks' eyes widened, and she looked with sympathy at the dancers. To her, being trapped like that would be unbearable. "Oh, I hope not... how awful if that was true." She kept looking at them for awhile longer, and then shook her head. "I can't just leave them there if they're under the Imperius..."

She took out her wand and pointed it straight at one of the dancers. If anyone was being forced to dance, she had the inclincation to stop it. "Finite Incantatem!" The spell worked, insofar as she felt it leave her wand. However, there was absolutely no effect. The dancers kept dancing, and didn't so much as look at her.

"Oh well." She sighed softly and tucked her wand back away. "I would like to look around more, but I think I'll go to my room first. Do you think we could meet again?"

At first, Rose was too busy staring at the wooden stick Tonks had used, and paying attention to the strange words she'd used, to notice much else. Good God, she'd never get used to this place if this kept up. It was one thing to hear that someone was a witch, but to watch them throwing around magic spells? What was next, someone into a toad? "Bloody hell, that was brilliant," she murmured, then shook her head, focusing more intently on the girl in front of her.

"That'd be nice, I think," Rose replied, finding she actually meant it. She'd had fun, for the most part, and it was nice not being cooped up in her room being sulky. Maybe her Mum had been right all those months ago, maybe getting out and about was the right way to heal. "Once you've had some time to settle in. Not that I think getting used to this place is on the agenda," she added with a wry smile. "But just the same. And rest, too, traveling parallel universes really does take its toll on you."

Tonks glanced over at the pretty woman, and smiled brightly. She kept forgetting what effect her magic could have on people who didn't know what it was, and had never seen it before. It pleased her, however, that Rose seemed amazed rather than scared. "Thanks! It seems normal to me, sometimes I forget... but it didn't do anything."

The witch backed out of the tent, glancing around once more. It really was a remarkable place, though she was sure it was going to get old pretty quickly. "Yeah, I'd kinda like to get out of here before getting used to it, but it can't hurt to get more information." She smiled at the other woman. "I think we can probably communicate through the journals, so we should arrange to meet again!" She was quite sincere, she'd liked the girl a lot.

"I'll see you later!" She flashed another bright smile to the girl and a cheery wave as she headed off in the direction that the goblin had pointed her. She had enjoyed that more than she'd thought, meeting Rose. But she needed to find her room now.
