WHAT: Going through the Labyrinth
WHEN: Day Seven, Dawn
WHERE: The Labyrinth
RATING: Given that Buffy's going, could be R
STATUS: Complete
NOTES: I'll adjust the posting order as people tag in

Caspian had never thought himself much of a leader. He didn't have the self-confidence, he believed, to take up the position and be effective. But, time and again, he was put in the position of authority, and time and again, he rose to the challenge, his yearning to do what was right outweighing his trepidations about his capability.

And so when it fell to him to lead this ragamuffin group through the labyrinth, he prepared for the journey as best as he could. While he was under the impression that every journey through the maze was different, fraught with dangers unlike the ones laid out before, he spoke to those he could about what would befall the group, and took it all into account. There was also the subject of provisions, as the journey could take days, even weeks to complete. That was a harder task to undertake, but from the three packs at his feet, it was fairly clear that Caspian had done all he could to ensure that, at the very least, the group would not starve.

So now, all the young king could do was wait, sitting on a low wall near the entrance, watching the sun rise over the changed city - which he really didn't have the mental capacity to ponder at the moment - and watched for his companions to arrive.

Buffy stared unimpressed at the whole lot of them. True, she didn't look like much herself, but then she felt she had a right to a certain amount of cockiness. She was the slayer after all and while she'd found her friends who were so very much not with the super-powers to be on more than one occasion very useful, they knew the drill. They didn't go rushing head long into danger and purposefully throwing themselves into situations that would likely end up with them being dead or killed. Which was exactly what all of these people were up to.

The brunette muffin with the sword and tunic, or Caspian as he seemed to be called, had apparently appointed himself their fearless leader. While he looked like he maybe knew a thing or two about fighting, he was - Buffy had no doubt - still human. When he suggested to the fair blonde who looked like he had gotten trapped in the middle of some kind of sci fi convention/rennaissance fair and barely made it out alive that they make it a point to protect the women folk she was even less impressed.

The group was moving along without her though as she stood there mulling over her irritation, so she moved to catch up the the dark haired boy.

"Okay, Brutus Le Grunt. Why don't we take a minute to assess our skill sets here before we start deciding who needs protection. I know I don't look like much, but neither does Spock's fair-haired love child, back there, and I really bet you wouldn't want to arm-wrestle me."
