Caspian had never thought himself much of a leader. He didn't have the self-confidence, he believed, to take up the position and be effective. But, time and again, he was put in the position of authority, and time and again, he rose to the challenge, his yearning to do what was right outweighing his trepidations about his capability.

And so when it fell to him to lead this ragamuffin group through the labyrinth, he prepared for the journey as best as he could. While he was under the impression that every journey through the maze was different, fraught with dangers unlike the ones laid out before, he spoke to those he could about what would befall the group, and took it all into account. There was also the subject of provisions, as the journey could take days, even weeks to complete. That was a harder task to undertake, but from the three packs at his feet, it was fairly clear that Caspian had done all he could to ensure that, at the very least, the group would not starve.

So now, all the young king could do was wait, sitting on a low wall near the entrance, watching the sun rise over the changed city - which he really didn't have the mental capacity to ponder at the moment - and watched for his companions to arrive.

The elven prince was disciplined enough not to immediately raise his bow, though he did hold it by his side, ready to be raised. As he heard the footfalls of the other people, he turned to look at them curiously. Just as Caspian had done, he took Hermione and Buffy's hands and pressed his lips to them.

"I am Legolas of Mirkwood. May the Valar smile on our meeting." He returned Caspian's handclasp, and then looked at the party thoughtfully. The blonde girl was tiny, but both she and the brunette had a strange aura about them. He wasn't going to judge them until he saw what they could do in battle, although, he found himself hoping he could take out any threats with his bow before they got too close.

The elf nodded to Caspian. He knew that his own role wasn't best served as a leader, and he could see much of the natural qualities in Caspian as he had seen in his friend Aragorn. Caspian would be a better leader. "You take the front, and I shall bring up the rear. Nothing will sneak up on us, that I promise you." The elf raised his bow, and then waited back until such a time as the rest of the party had passed into the Labyrinth.
