WHO: Juniper and Armand
WHEN: Very early morning, Day Five
WHAT: Armand causing trouble
WHERE: Just outside her dorm
RATING: R
STATUS: Complete

Juniper was fast asleep, and yet, her mind was constantly awake. Awake, and given that it was only operating on basic functions given her slumber, very unguarded. So it really wasn't a wonder that, when Juniper heard a familiar voice calling to her, beckoning her to him, she obeyed without a thought. Her eyes opened and she noticed that she was alone, but the note on the pillow next to her went unread. She had something far more important to do, apparently.

Dressed in a t-shirt and a little pair of cotton shorts, Juniper left her room, the door wide open, walking as if in a trance. She smoothed her hair a bit as she moved, running her fingers through it idly, and left the building, completely ignorant of the pre-dawn chill in the air. Armand was calling her, and in her weakened state, all she could do was obey.

She sought him out as if she'd known where he was all along, and then stood in front of the vampire, blinking a bit dazedly. "You called."

Armand didn't like fighting. He had done it very rarely, mostly with Lestat and Marius, and occasionally with Daniel, but that didn't mean he liked it much. And fighting with Schuldig had been especially draining. He knew he was in the right, which was the worst thing about it. If he was wrong, it would almost be easier. But Schuldig wasn't a vampire, and he wasn't sure the telepath could ever understand.

The sun was going to rise soon, he could feel that. But he slipped out anyway, away from his lover, and headed out into the dark. The light was coming. He didn't have much time. But he wandered around for a bit, and realized he must have had a destination the whole time when he ended up outside the dorm where he'd taken Juniper to find her room earlier.

Well, why not? He was still very injured by the sun, though it barely showed anymore. The blood that he'd taken from Juniper and Schuldig would hardly be enough to heal him, no matter how powerful. Standing in the shadows, he called out with his mind, using the Gift of Compulsion that he'd honed so much over the years. When Juniper appeared, he looked her over quickly. He could handle him biting her again. So he held out his arms to her, bidding her silently to come to him. Like in the old days, when this was how he'd fed all the time.

Later, Juniper would hate herself for this. She would kick her own ass to America and back for being so easy, so weak. For going to him when she knew there was only one thing he wanted, and knowing that it would cause problems for her in her personal life. She'd have to hide all of this from Edward. The last thing she wanted was a vampire duel.

But as it was, she wasn't thinking of any of that, Armand had her too tightly in his control. Dazed, Juniper smiled slightly and went to Armand's arms as readily and easily as she would have gone to her mother's. There was no pain there, no fear, just bliss, and so why would she resist?

Her arms wound around his neck and she tipped her head to his shoulder, her long, white neck only shielded by a few wayward ruby curls, trying to protect their owner from what was about to happen. Juniper closed her eyes and let out a sigh against his cool neck, her breath and lips barely warming the skin before it went cold again.

Interesting. It appeared to him that telepaths were more vulnerable to his suggestions when they slept. He would have to keep that in mind. God knew he needed some sort of advantage over Schuldig, really. And Juniper herself. He wasn't used to people being able to keep him out, nor mortals. Vampires, yes. Humans, no.

But that was all very vague and quick. The sun was rising, he could feel it coming. He should be safely back in his coffin. Instead, he wrapped his arms around the beautiful redhead, brushing the few strands of hair away. She was strong enough for him to take a little, just a little. Not too much, he didn't want to kill her...

Once her hair was out of the way, it wasn't long before his teeth sunk through the surface of her skin once more, and the blood flowed into his mouth. With a mental sigh, he slipped into her mind, sending the waves of pleasure through her entire system, and allowed her thoughts to surround him. Some of them would have made him smirk, if it was possible while biting her. Another vampire... he probed for more information on this Edward.

Juniper went limp in Armand's arms as his fangs pierced her neck, barely hanging on to him, her eyes closed and her lips parted in a soft, breathy moan. She couldn't imagine how this could be wrong when it felt so wonderful, but then wasn't that always the way of things? What felt the best, tasted the best, sounded the best...it was generally bad for you.

Her thoughts were drug along to what she knew of Edward, and their time together. If she'd realised, she would have been fiercely angry at the invasion of privacy, but at this point, she was merely a vessel.

He was a vampire, a different breed than Armand, and everything she knew about him went straight to Armand without a filter. His family, his abilities, his history. The way he felt about Juniper, the kisses they'd shared, the laughter that had filled the room, the travels they'd made. It was all his.

The blood, though welcome, was almost secondary to the vampire at this point. After all, he'd fed quite a bit over the last day or so. Her thoughts were much more intruiging to him, and the fact that he knew she'd be annoyed by him reading these moments, these thoughts, in her head amused him far more than it would have if he'd been any sort of decent person. But, of course, the term person barely applied to him.

Edward... He probed for everything she knew about him. Vampires didn't always get along so well, and most of them prefered to be alone. Armand prefered company, but he was rare. So it was partially out of self-preservation that he raided her mind, though he doubted that would make her feel better.

The trick of blood slowed down, and then he slowly withdrew from her. So, the telepath had found love. That was adorable, though he mocked it slightly in his mind. Deep down, however, he was a romantic. Not that it meant he intended to stop coming to her, because he didn't. But this Edward... he was interesting. It didn't seem that he was as strong as Armand, but mostly he was just... different. Armand sneered slightly.

"That is, without a doubt, the most touching thing I've ever seen." His tone of voice left it unclear whether he was being sarcastic or not. In reality, he both was and wasn't.

Juniper was starting to come back into her own as Armand stopped drinking from her. Her brain was becoming less foggy, and what was happening to her was heading into sharp reality. "He's wonderful," she mumbled, blinking up at him, her hand covering where he'd bit her, applying pressure to stop the flow of blood.

Then it snapped together and Juniper shoved at Armand's chest with her free hand, jumping back. "What are you doing?! You cant' just--I didn't agree--" she looked around and then put her hand to her forehead.

"How the bloody hell did I even get out here?" Juniper was in a full out flat spin. It was one thing to be controlled when she had a fighting chance, but clearly, she hadn't been given that in any sense of the word, if she'd left her bed and dorm building without realising it.

Armand looked at her, full-out pouting. It was something he was really a little too good at, and despite the fact that he'd just been drinking her blood from her, he looked like nothing so much as a wronged child. "How cruel you are to me..."

But he couldn't keep it up. He shook his head, auburn hair flying, and started laughing. In truth, the whole thing was amusing. She with her vampire love who would be incredibly upset by this. And he with his telepath lover, who would be just as annoyed, he was sure of it. And yet, he'd come to her anyway. Sometimes, he wondered about himself.

"Well, I suppose I'll see you later... the sun is coming up." He glanced at the east, where the sky was lightning just a little. He didn't have to go yet. He just wanted to get away, wanted to have the last word. And, despite everything, he really did like Juniper. She had spirit, and he admired that. The least contact she actually had with him, the better.

"Oh, button it, you," Juniper spat, not fooled in the slightest by his innocent act. Armand couldn't be innocent if he tried. "You're not hurt. You couldn't be if you wanted to."

And there he was, trying to escape. "Oi, you tosser!" she hollered, and hurried to stop him, her bare feet revolting against the hard, uneven, and admittedly sharp ground.

"You're not doing that anymore. It's my blood, it's my brain, and I'm not afraid of you, Armand. You're nothing more than a little child taking toys away in the play park. No more."

Armand raised an eyebrow, surprised that she'd come after him. More than surprised, really. He'd been too pleased with himself, and really, that was his downfall more often than not. He became self-satified to the point where he didn't even notice things going on, even when they were obvious.

Very slowly, he turned to face her, looking more thoughtful than anything else. "It really works best, my lovely one, if we don't talk after. Usually, my victims die. Since that obviously may not happen now, it's rather strange for me to sit and talk to you."

He shrugged a little. "Afraid? Who wants you to be afraid of me? I'm not going to utter threats like some villian in a story book. I'm not going to tell you 'Oh, but you should be,' and then cackle madly. That's not my style. Taking toys? Are you calling yourself a mere toy, then?" He frowned, confused. "I could promise I will not bite you again, but I'd be lying, and you could probably pick that from my mind."

Juniper snorted. "Oh forgive me," she fluttered sarcastically. "God forbid I make things a bit difficult for you after you rip me from my bed for your own amusement. Do you have any idea how lucky you are that Edward wasn't there? He knows about you, Armand. And he's not keen on you using me as a petrol pump."

"That's how you see me, I'd wager. Something to have a bit of fun with, something to play with until you're spent of it and decide to toss it away." That's how humans were viewed in his arena, weren't they?

"I don't want your promises, empty or otherwise," she told him. "I'm telling you that it's not happening again. Ever." And with that, Juniper turned on her heel and stalked back off to her dorm. This was going to be really hard to hide from Edward.

Armand couldn't help it. He started laughing again. It was just that she was so completely pissed off with him, and he so completely deserved it. Of course, part of it might have been the slight high that he seemed to keep getting from the blood of the telepath's that he'd met. But, whatever it was, he was amused. Partly by her, but mostly by himself.

You would tell me what to do? You think you can stop me? Maybe you even can, for awhile. But I am a vampire, and you, however extraordinary, are still simply a mortal. He sent the mocking thought backward toward her, not moving from the place where he stood.

He wasn't even sure if he was more annoyed with her for trying to tell him what to do, or if it was, once again, simply amusement. Either way, it was strangely compelling. He watched after the redhead, intense concentration on his angelic face.

Stupid, maybe, but Juniper's blood was boiling. He couldn't even give her the courtesy of retorting aloud, he had to do exactly what she didn't want him to do, and invade her brain. "Oh I can stop you. And I will," she insisted, turning back to face him.

And then, against her better judgment, Juniper decked Armand, throwing her full weight into the punch. It would hurt her a lot more than it could possibly hurt him, of course, but still, until the pain hit, it felt good.

Tears stung her eyes and Juniper was fairly sure that she'd broken her hand, but still, she was fuming. "Go fuck yourself, Armand," she spat, and then left for real that time.

Armand, though he seemed to be fairly small for a man, didn't even move. He stood completely still and allowed her to punch him. It did hurt, though it must have felt to her like she was punching marble. Still, it was healed up within a second, and he shrugged it off.

Honestly, he didn't know if he would bother going after her again. She was fun to play with, yes. She was defiant, which irritated him. And it wasn't like he was scared of a vampire that, apparently, sort of sparkled. In reality, he had no idea what would happen if he did push this, and that thought was exciting.

But then... there was Schuldig. His eyes fell to the ground as he moved to his room, the one he shared with his lover. Oh, well. He didn't have to decide right now. There was always later for that.
