WHO: Tara MaClay & Mercy Tompson & OTA
WHEN: Day Four, After the ball.
WHAT: Debating Jareth's Insect Reflection.
WHERE: Outside of dorm, leaning against a corner.
RATING: G(?)
STATUS: Incomplete

Things had been crazy at the ball. Finding out precisely what was happening was both a relief and an even greater stress. It was amazing all the amount of people that Jareth had apparently brought into this new dimension and some of the powers that the others held were miraculous. After re-assessing the large chained creature’s behavior in her mind and Jareth’s reaction it was obvious that it had to be someone summoned here by him. If Jareth could deter a creature like that, then what else could he do? No single person’s power was going to be great enough to stop him. Tara had suspected before that it was going to take a combined effort to stop him, but now she knew this had to be a fact and not just a theory.

Keeping her arms crossed tightly over her midsection one hand rubbed her other upper arm. Brows were furrowed deeply in thought as she debated over which options they did and didn’t have still. Obviously there were a great deal of powerful people trapped here, which Jareth took on alone. What if a major spell could be compiled by combining all of the magic casters abilities? Would that be enough to stop Jareth? What if they could phase him out of this reality? Did this plane of existence help to give him more power? It was starting to seem like he had tricked each person out of their own world and into his. That must mean that his power source was somehow tied to this place. Could it be an object? Maybe if they could find out where Jareth’s power came from, his source they could show him how little he meant in the Karmic cycle. The thoughtful frown turned into a faint smile as the old joke about insect reflections danced in her mind. It was really too bad that no one else besides Willow got it, it really was a fantastic joke.

Sighing heavily it was cool outside tonight and the brick from the corner of the building was starting to dig into her back some. ‘Maybe I should head inside now.’ Tara shifted to move only to be halted by another thought. ‘Why? So you can make holes in the floor with how much pacing you do and not get your mind off of Willow since she resides in the room directly below yours. If I start pacing I’ll probably just keep us both up.’ Another sigh fell from the blond witch’s lips in frustration. What was she to do at this point. The Scoobies would be researching like crazy through all the texts in the magic box if this was Sunnydale, but this wasn’t Sunnydale. Maybe in the morning she could find out information from the goblins? Or see if she could find any history books? There had to be a library around here, wasn’t there?

Then there was also everything with Willow, and Willow really being Willow and how where Willow was from Tara, herself, was dead. It all hit home very hard. There was an old song she remembered hearing while growing up that the good died young, but… She’d never thought the type of death she had been told she had would happen to her. Killed by a stray bullet? Of all the things that could have gone wrong, a bullet? A demon, a vampire, a Frankenstein, a god, a super-genius-mad-scientists invention gone wrong, a spell, but a damn bullet? It was almost impossible to believe. And Goddess it hurt Willow so much. The pain and joy in her redhead lover’s eyes every time the other woman looked at her spoke more then all the words in the world ever would portray. How was someone supposed to react to the fact that they had died in their lovers arms somewhere else? Was this possibly a sign that getting back with Willow was the wrong thing to do? Or was there a greater scheme in which Willow had to become so powerful? Was all this power that Willow had accumulated needed for some greater plan?

Tara’s head was beginning to hurt with all of the thoughts spinning around in it. Bringing a hand up the blond witch messaged her temples with the thumb and forefinger. “I wonder if they have Excedrin here.” The blond witch muttered to her self in frustration. Closing her eyes she slowly tilted her head back while inhaling deeply, there had to be something that would calm her nerves. ‘Willow could.’ A heavy and annoyed sigh was released as eyes opened towards the stars; there was no giant pineapple to state at tonight but at least there was some sort of stars. In a strange way, that notion alone was a vague comfort to her. Eyes searched the heavens pulling out new constellations in her mind causing a faint smile to form on her lips slowly. At least the bright glowing orbs shining down on them were the same, even if they were fake, they still gave the blond witch a false sense of comfort of a greater unknown shining down on her.

Tonks blinked at the blonde girl, not understanding. Watcher? What did a watcher have to do with anything? But so many odd things happened, really, that she didn't worry about it too much. "Um... I dunno?" She finally settled on that, because it seemed safe enough. The girl seemed nice, even if she didn't exactly make a ton of sense to the witch. But she never let that stop her from liking people.

"Hullo, Tara. Nice to meet you. No, I'm pretty new, too." She smiled brightly, and then turned to Mercy, who seemed to be wanting to get her attention. Mercy had never bitten her before, so she had no reason to believe the coyote was attacking her. Anyway, if she was going to hurt her, she could do it much better than by chewing on her clothing. So all she had to do was figure out what the other woman/coyote wanted.

However, she wasn't stupid, and quickly realized that it was dress that Mercy was tugging on. She smiled and made a guess. "Accio Mercy's clothes!" Moments later, the sort of clothing that the woman, in her human form, would like to wear came floating up into Tonks's hands. "Is this what you wanted, Mercy?" She arched an eyebrow and set them on the ground near the coyote.

Seeing the pup wonder off towards the food tent reminded Tara of her original purpose in adventuring this way as her stomach growled slightly. Giving the other woman a softly embarrassed smile she noticed as Mercy, after finishing off her food, was tugging at the other woman’s clothing. Was there something going on that she wasn’t aware of? Did the dog know something neither of them was noticing? It always amazed her the sixth sense that animals seemed to hold, which was why she always held a quiet respect for all of her animal brethren. Though it was still strangely curious none-the-less, what could possibly be going on? Eyes slowly wondered around the area attempting to see if she could notice anything amiss in the area they currently resided in. Noting nothing her attention returned back to the other woman.

Brows raised at the lack of knowing if the other woman was in fact a watcher. Perhaps she had been hasty with her assumptions? Though the girl did fit the profile, well, kind of with the being British, but did all watchers have to be British? The sudden turning of attention back to the pup caused her brows to raise again. Just what exactly was going on here? The few words uttered brought a new realization to the blond woman. The other was a witch, and the saying having something to do with ‘Mercy’s clothes’ seemed very odd. What did a dog need with clothing? Or was this another situation where nothing was as it seemed. When Tonks as the question to Mercy a curious look crossed Tara’s face. “So, um, is Mercy, um… well, m-more then she, um, appears?”

Mercy wagged her tail towards Tonks and licked the woman's wand hand in thanks. Once she had her clothing sent behind a table inside the tent she quickly changed into human form where no one could see her. She wiggled her way into a pair of grease stained jeans and a t-shirt that read "Mercy's Garage." this was a task that took her a minute after much practice.

Dressed and human Mercy felt in her pocket for a tie and pulled her long black hair out of her face as she walked towards the two witches. "Hey Tonks." She smirked then looked towards the blonde witch and extended her hand for a shake. "I guess I need to explain then hmm?" She laughed a little. "I saw you sitting there so alone and sad I had to pay you some company of the furry kind. I'm Mercedes Thompson, just Mercy for short. I'm the Coyote, a walker, well shape shifter if you will."

Sure it was going to be awkward but Tara had to find out sooner or later what she really was. "We spoke on the journals I believe." Her human from was tall, built like a bodybuilder with skin covered in various tribal tattoos. She was still wearing the dog collar with her name on it. "I hope you don't hold my small deception against me?"

Tonks grinned and tucked her wand safely away into the folds of her dress once more, and watched as the coyote trotted away. Once she'd disappeared, she turned her attention back to Tara, but felt a little bad when she saw the confusion on the other woman's face. Taking pity, she smiled at her and shrugged a little. "Mercy is about to show you, I think."

Sure enough, soon the woman came out, and Tonks ran up to give her a proper hug. She turned to Tara and waited as the dark-haired woman made her introductions to the blonde.

"I would tell you, of course, but I thought Mercy should tell you herself. So, now you know!"
