Day 17 City of Illusions Educational Arrivals: None Weather: A drastic change for the better weather wise today. Warm, sunny, and pleasant, with little fluffy white clouds in the sky. A light, pleasant breeze keeps things cool enough to be comfortable. Highs of 65 degrees (18 Celsius), lows of 59 (15 Celsius) in the evening. At night, a bright, silvery full moon lights up the sky. Announcements: Well, apparently today is Halloween. Everyone will wake up to an 'invitation' to a costume ball in the evening, attendance is not optional, and neither are costumes. If you won't choose a costume for yourself, Jareth will choose one for you, and you probably won't like what he chooses. Black and orange streamers, paper skeletons, jack o lanterns, and there will be goblins handing out candy throughout the day. Enjoy the festivities! Okay, the Halloween thread is open! A couple of people have asked questions, which I'm going to address here in case other people were unclear.
1) Does my character pick their own costume? They can! If they don't, though, Jareth will pick something for them. Costumes are not optional.
2) Do I have to participate in the open thread? While attendance is mandatory, if you absolutely don't want to post in the open thread, you don't have to. But it will be good activity, so why not tag in?
3) How does this work? Your character walks into the ball and becomes their costume. For example, if they're dressed as a, I dunno, cat, they actually become a cat. So keep this in mind when you're picking your costume!
4) Will people recognize each other even in costume? No, people will not, unless it would make sense for the costume that they're wearing. For example, if two people dressed as, say, Clark Kent and Lois Lane, then they would recognize each other.
5) Will the characters remember how they behaved at the ball on next day change, when they are back to normal? Yes. Yes they will.
