Sturmbannfuhrer-SS Hans Varner kept his office fairly organized, and these days - devoid of personal effects. A picture of Hitler hung on the wall, but it had come with the office, as had the sad excuse for a houseplant that clung to life by the window. He paid little attention to either, save once a week when he dusted the picture and offered the plant a glass of water and a bit of encouragement in the form of rotating it to try and find it a better patch of sun in which to languish.
A filing cabinet in one corner held records of various sorts - requisitions, incoming and outgoing shipments, personnel reports. His desk had a comfortable chair (he'd stolen it when a superior had fallen out of favor at the end of a gun), and was piled high with paperwork. A smaller desk in the outer office would be given to his new secretary. Hans settled into his stolen-yet-comfortable chair began to read the report on the hapless fellow who was assigned to him.
