He was also in a different place then. Still shellshocked over the destruction of the Colonies and the failure of the fleet to protect the homeworlds, Jake hadn't been in the mood to appreciate much of anything. The grief over Bridget's death had still been very fresh as well.
"It's beautiful, and impressive. Hard to believe we could build such a thing."
The colors of the trees were quite striking, changing into brilliant yellows, oranges, and reds.
