Rosie Shayl (12:38:27 AM): "Yeah...I cried," the idea of it seemed silly, and she gave half a laugh in acknowledgment of that. "But don't feel guilty!" she added, perhaps a bit too hastily.
She rolled over to half face him, not waking up as quickly as she should have perhaps, but still, she was awake and alive, and that was something. "You tested me," she blurted, a smile playing at the corners of her lips.
Colton West (12:46:34 AM): He smirked and looked away, not answering her question. "Maybe I did," he said with an agitated sigh, "I don't know." He leaned into her bunk, almost hovering over her, "It's just that I've seen so many Viper jocks, so many Colonials, so many people just toss their life away for nothin', well - I had to see if you'd survive - had to know." He looked away, "Look, I know it's wierd and morbid and convoluted, but..." he finally looked down at her and his face softened. He brushed a tiny bit of hair from her face and let his arm rest across the top edge of her pillow. His free hand reached for hers, clenching it softly. "To be honest, Rose, I just know that what I did was unfair." He looked directly into her eyes and offered a symapthetic smile. His eyes were wrapped in a thin layer of tears, but they never spilled over. "I'm especially sorry to see you here crying."
Rosie Shayl (12:49:12 AM): "If you're sorry," she said, and pushed up onto her elbows. That much effort seemed enough to tilt Scorpia on its axis. "If you're sorry, it's not founded. You wanted to see if the jock on your wing knew what the frak she was doing?" Her eyes were searching his, not cold, not hot. Only curious.
Colton West (12:51:08 AM): He reached out, holding his arms to steady her. "You alright?" He sized her up and took leaned closer to her, as if to kiss her - but stopped. Instead he sniffed the air.
Rosie Shayl (12:53:47 AM): "No," she replied, a touch mournfully, and glanced down. "But none of us is. I'll make it." She paused. "Do you want to go to bed with me, Vagabond?" Her question was brash, uncouth, but her eyes hinted it was a jest. She could feel her toes now. Slightly disappointing, but something nonetheless.
Colton West (12:58:33 AM): He let go of her and took a step back, his eyes turning from questioning to an almost accusationary glare. "Alright Rose, you're not drunk and you're alot more subtle than that - so why don't you tell me what the frak is wrong?"
Rosie Shayl (1:03:51 AM): "Oh, so you think you know me now? Just because you frakked me?" She sat up, and immediately regretted it. The blood rushed from her head, leaving half a second of blackness before she regrouped to glare at the other pilot. "Women are complicated creatures, Lieutenant West. Keep that in mind when you cipher and judge them."
Colton West (1:05:04 AM): He smirked at her and gave her a dismissive glance as he crossed his arms over his chest, "And anything I should keep in mind when I frak them?"
Rosie Shayl (1:08:59 AM): It was like a punch to the nose. It wasn't as though she hadn't seen anyone else--an image of John swam into her mind amid the swirling confusion--but it still didn't feel good to hear such a thing. "You should keep in mind the definition of honesty," said Rosie, hypocritically. "See how that sits with you."
Colton West (1:13:43 AM): He leaned against the bulkhead, offering her a cool, confident smile. "Honesty?" The serpentine nature of his tone was clear. "Perhaps I'll be honest with Tarix or Sykes about your unique ability to regurgitate while still in the confines of your jock smock." He took a step forward, staring her right in the face. His arms uncrossed and he pointed at her angrily, "You listen to me Rose Shayl, and you listen good - I've never lied to you. Not once. If you had bothered to ask, or bothered to review the Simulation Software, you'd have known what was coming. Instead you let someone else do your job for you - and that, my dear Cupcake, gets you killed."
