It was an odd thing, to find routine in such a different place. Or not, considering she'd even found a measure of it in Andromeda. But there it had been 'find new places, continue looking into Kett/Remnant activity, continue to find more habitable places' while here it was more 'keep an eye on the guy paying you to find things' It helped she was good at hitting the ground running. She wondered if she'd always had that ability but Andromeda had just pushed it to the front. Something inherited from her father maybe. Routine wasn't bad. There was just enough of a variety for it not to get boring.
And now she got to include keeping the most adorable little space hamster happy as part of it. She'd named the little critter Sally, her companion back in Andromeda was named Yuri, and was happy spoiling her with some of the (probably questionable) vegetables she'd managed to get her hands on when things suddenly changed. She'd like to be able to say she'd sensed it, but she didn't. One moment her room held her and the hamster, the next there was a really tall almost dangerous looking 'bot in it as well.
Fair here fair was, she was half sure it was Remnant. "Euhm," she gave. Helpful. She blinked and set the hamster in her cage before rising. Slowly. Remnant were always twitchy. "What?" Her guns were in the closet, but she wasn't defenseless. She had her biotics, but she didn't want to wreck her room with them. Or hurt the hamster. Not unless she had to. Still, she took a cautious step back. "SAM? Any ideas here?" There was a heartbeat before SAM spoke; "None, Pathfinder. Scans inconclusive." She made a face and raised her hands. Just in case. "Helpful as ever. Let's just try getting it out of here."
Again she took a step back, keeping her eyes on the 'bot. "Easy there. Don't go all aggressive on me. I didn't step into one of your sites, you stepped into mine." Remnant had not shown they could understand her so far so it might be a pointless exercise, but still one she'd try. "No one needs shot at today. Just, follow me alright?" She sighed, "might be talking to myself. SAM, can you try interfacing? See if we can get anything through to it?" At SAM's affirmative she took another step back. Well, at least things were always interesting.
