Who: Mayday Parker and OPEN
What: The Earth run has happened, and May goes into debt to be a nice person
Where: All over Knowhere
When: Before her work shift at Medical, after the Earth Run.
Rating: PG - PG-13, possibly Spider-Fights but it's Spider-Girl. It'll be as vanilla as all the ice cream she has.
Status: Open, In Progress
Notes: I'll include a list of who she delivers what to at the bottom under a cut, if you want a scene with it, feel free to reply! I'll also add in some random points where people she's not visiting can jump in if people want.
Notes for Good living: One: Never dimension hop without Waffles. Two: When it's called upon to put on the costume, stop leaving your backpack behind. Music players are expensive. Three: Whenever possible, make friends with a Jedi. Four: Learn to Roll with it. Five: Always pack enough webfluid to get you through a month. Keep it in that backpack you're not supposed to forget. Six: Never neglect a telepathic dog, they''re pretty much the best thing ever. Seven: Whenever possible, when it gets really weird and you're freaking out, just tug on your mask and go for a swing, there's no better medicine in the world. Which might have explained why, in spite of everything she might have had to panic about, the daughter of Spider-Man was grinning like a darn fool. How could you not in a place like Knowhere, that was beyond excellent for webslinging, when you had good music in your ears? If there was a way, Mayday was sure that person had just been greatly wronged in their Spider-Life. Which, not impossible to consider, but something best left out of her head. The weird Family had been stopped, the Electros had been locked up, she'd gotten Billy out and -- through some bizarre stroke of luck -- she'd ended up here. All things considered, looking at all the things that could have gone wrong with her crazy plan? There was absolutely nothing to complain about at all. Zip. Zero. Zilch. Not when she could swing the web lines and drop herself into a brief backwards jog. Throw in the neighborly wave, she prompted herself into the gesture before bouncing on her toes and heading off again. She'd make her way down to the docks first, throwing in her webs and strength to help move some stuff around -- no charge, just for fun -- plus she had stuff to pick up. Maybe doubling down for work wasn't the best way to go about it, but she'd promised it would only be until she'd gotten some supplies on this trip to Earth. Besides, people actually paid her units for quickly getting them from point A to B -- Who knew? -- and...well. Lets just say she 'came by' some money after being pointed toward this places more seedy side. It really wasn't any different than any other day for her in New York really. In fact, when Mayday thought about it while storing things in her Brand New Backpack -- that she was not ever going to forget again -- this was actually a lot easier than things had been for her in a long time. Sure, she felt guilty leaving Benjy in the care of Uncle Ben, but at least she knew he'd be okay. Sure, she missed Gwen, and everyone, but this place wasn't short on any kind of good company, at least not from what she could tell. Which was precisely why she'd ordered the things she had for the supply run. Mayday had kept careful notes about everyone, she'd paid close attention to the people she'd spoken to in both her personas. Little things, housewarming presents for people who probably weren't as used to these kind of things as she was -- friendly and neighborly things, one might say -- she'd collected them with the sole purpose of just doing something nice. That was just who she was, even before she'd laced up her first pair of boots and taken to the streets to make New York a safer place to walk at night. She saw no reason to change it here on Knowhere. Besides, and she had to say it again as she twhipped and zipped her way through the structure of Knowhere: This place was awesome. It was absolutely amazing, hands down the coolest place she'd ever been before. I mean, how many places could you be just flipping your way through the air, stopping pick pockets and helping people stack some things in the markets, and then you get to turn around and just... "Hey Cap." Like it's the most natural thing in the world. And you completely freak out when he highfives you. It's cool though. He's Cap. He rolls with it. You stand there like an idiot. Then something gets your attention and you're off again. Really. These were the moments of her life now as she bounced around apartments, barracks, and workplaces alike. She returned the things she'd borrowed, she handed off the gifts she'd bought for people and even made a point to take time with each one. Mayday and Spider-Woman both made introductions easily to people. May had, as much as a Parker ever would, mastered slipping in and out of costume absolutely discreetly when it was needed. She'd learned to walk the tightrope of a secret life with, for the most part, great success. Sure. Wes knew but... Wes was... Sure, it was an exhausting day but, hey! Look at that! The batteries were still going strong and there was a nice flat patch of roof to catch her breath on. She'd made all her stops she'd meant to make. She'd helped around the were celestial head. She'd d one what a Spider could and, now that she was finally sitting down for a minute, pulling out the very last -- now very much mush that she was going to enjoy anyway -- ice cream taco. She didn't care about sticky fingers. She didn't care about the mess at all. She just lifted her mask enough to free her mouth for eating and took the most satisfying bite ever as she looked out over the place. "Yup. Good day." |
