"Two parts natural talent, one part Spider physiology, Big C." She didn't even miss a beat when he'd jumped. Sure, it startled her, but Mayday was quickly figuring out that was just going to be the way of it here. Parkers and Spiders were nothing if not adaptable. Besides, he wasn't a whole lot different than Dark Devil and, really, her whole life had been a series of people just randomly showing up out of nowhere. At least, in Castiel's case, he didn't seem interested in hurting her. That was a win she was happy to take.
"Same way we can stick to walls and hold gallons of ice cream. Extra dimensional organs maybe. We don't ask too many questions." She was smiling under her mask and she contorted herself into a perch that was perpendicular to the wall she was on, making it easy for him to look at her feet. It wasn't like the curiosity fazed her much. People always had questions and, really, he was being far less intrusive than some people had been.
And he was agreeing to keep her secret.
To say that earned Castiel points in her book? It almost would have been insulting it was so below the mark, like cheese-less pizza or surprise tofu that tried to taste like meat. She'd never understand the latter, even if she liked vegetables just fine. They just didn't have to try so hard to taste not like vegetables. It was just silly. And she was thinking about as fast as she spoke, which brought her back to his comment, and to the man on the roof on above her.
"So what's shaking, tall, dark, and teleporting?" May stepped forward, setting herself in line with proper gravity as she climbed up on the roof and stood at her full height. She kept her distance from him some, but...less than she might have with new people in general. If secret keeping wasn't a display of trust, well, Mayday wasn't sure she knew what was and she just figured he deserved at least a piece of that pie. Besides, she was brand new to the Space Head and it seemed like a good idea to start making some friends here. That was what today had been all about, hadn't it?
"You just the eyes in sky up here, keeping an eye on everything down there? Reporting on local traffic conditions maybe? That seems like something useful in this place."
