As she spoke, Alphonse listened intently, tilting his head a little at her words and as he watched the small, fabricated firefly flutter around the woman's hand. It was so beautiful. And when given the command to hold out his hand, there was no hesitation at all. She didn't even need to reassure him it wouldn't hurt him before that hand was outstretched and uncurling fingers.
So trusting.
And his face simply lit up as the firefly made its way to him and landed delicately upon his hand. "It's so beautiful." He proclaimed as he lifted his hand closer to his face, the light of the little creature reflected in those big, round eyes. They were bronze, the color of an ancient suit of armor, but far warmer than any metal might be. Sun-kissed, perhaps, on a place in space with no sun, was pushing it a little. But still, those bronze eyes were warm and pleased, and so very innocent. Odd, that, but his make-shift family had done a great job of keeping him safe from the outside world, for the most part.
Li-Ming. The name didn't ring a bell. They hadn't exchanged names on the network (and Al never paid attention to the small blue letters that denoted who was who). But it was beautiful and it reminded him of a certain girl back home, causing his cheeks to flush up a little.
"I'm Alphonse Elric." He offered, his firefly-free hand coming out in greeting. Of course he expected to shake hands, it was what people did in his country. "It's an honor to meet you, Miss Li-Ming." She was so pretty. She even looked a little like Mei Chang. If Mei were older. Alphonse couldn't help the deepening flush in his cheeks.
