Pick a character you are well acquainted with and know them well. This will be a strong deciding factor on whether an application is accepted.
There will be strong restrictions on how many versions of one character there will be from each series.
There will only be one version allowed. Unless the author of a manga/anime/fandom does an AU of their characters like CLAMP, this will remain firmly in place.
In cases of CLAMP, there can be two of a character only if it comes from completely different universes. Example being the Seishiro from Tsubasa and the Seishiro from TB/X 1999.
For continuation series, it will be handled as one series. This will include the cycle of Tokyo Babylon, CLAMP Campus Detectives, Man of Many Faces, CLAMP Campus Defenders Duklyon, and X 1999. If there is a post-Rainbow Bridge Subaru, there will be no more versions of Subaru allowed. No, not even the Tokyo Babylon version.
You are allowed more than one character, but for your own sake, consider how much time you have. This will be not only for yourself, but also for those that you play with.
The form that will be made for application must be filled out entirely. It will be scrutinized very carefully by more than just the moderator before approval. Things that will be an issue for approval are as follows:
Grammar, Spelling, and punctuation. I’m not a grammar nazi, but I want effort put into this. I won’t mark off for a typo or a mistake here and there, but there must be a noticeable concerted effort to make it correct.
IC (In character). You must keep the sample writing section as in character as possible. OOC (out of character) writing will not be accepted in any case. If you plan to change a character, be realistic. Change takes time and doesn’t happen over night. It certainly won’t happen in the initial application.
This is a para (paragraphing) community. It is expected that you are capable of writing and can write a paragraph for a post. I don’t care if it is written in prose form or with dashes or asterisks to denote action; it only has to be longer than one line. One lining will be strictly prohibited. (Further note: Three to four sentences are considered a full paragraph according to English format.)
Length of Application. If you give me a background of three sentences to a character like Seishirou from X, you will be instantly rejected. There is so much you can do with that character and many things to explain. When you give their personality, show your understanding of that character. Don’t just say, “He’s a cold blooded killer that loves his Subaru!” that will be rejected very quickly. I want an in depth analysis using what CLAMP has given. Only characters that are not gone into extensively by the original authors will be allowed to write shorter applications. But they too, will be scrutinized.
Note: You will be given more than one chance to correct your mistakes. Use these chances wisely. We are willing to work with you, if you are willing to work with us. But we hold the right to say no, if things do not work out. We will try our best to say exactly why we don’t accept the application, therefore no questions are left.
Game Play:
Just like the Application section, the rules and regulations of game play will be extensive and important to any participating in this RPG (role-playing game). All players will act accordingly to them, and if rules are broken, there will be penalties. The moderator has the right to ask a player to leave the game if things get too far out of hand.
Problems with other Players:
This is a tricky subject that needs to be addressed. Should you have an issue with another player that cannot be overlooked, please tell the moderator or consult that player on your own time. If you choose to tell the moderator, that player will be addressed as quickly as possible. If he/she cannot respect the wishes of the other players, then there will be consequences. Though the moderator has the final say it will not be a decision solely based on that person. Others will be consulted in the situation to make sure that it is a unified decision.
God-modding:
Do not pull other characters into your storyline without their permission first. If you want to set up an event, all parties involved must give their permission. Do not play as though you are invincible and infallible. No one wants to play with that sort of character, and it takes the fun out of things. Therefore, this rule is clear. No god-modding will be allowed in this RPG. It is forbidden and when caught, will be addressed.
Activity:
If you want to play in this RPG, you are expected to be active with the character[s] that you are taking on. It is expected that you post at least once a week either IC or OOC to prove you are still interested. (If you have more than one character, each is expected to post once a week. If you do not, you will be asked to drop the inactive character.) If you do not, the moderator has the option to remove your character from play completely. The only other way to avoid this removal is to state that you are going for a hiatus. Please state the expected time of absence if at all possible. Everyone understands that life is busy, and we will not hold IRL (in real life) activities against you. But if you go past the time that you state you will be absent, your character will be taken from you.
IC versus OOC:
You are allowed to post in either of these two formats. It is only requested that you state if you are going OOC. These two things must remain separated. If you take your character OOC in play, this will also be addressed. It is important to remember that this is a character and not really you. This is a game where you play another character, but you are not that character. If someone consistently goes OOC in game, the moderator will address them. If someone takes this far too seriously and forgets this is a game for fun, they will also be reprimanded and probably asked to leave. Remember ladies and gents… it’s only a game. Play it right, or don’t play it at all.
Relationships:
Canon pairings, Crack Pairings, Cross-over pairings, and any others will be respected and accepted. It is only asked that you make it that the situation is believable. Don’t go, “Touya-ou has a sword! Lantis has a sword! OMG OTP!” in two posts. This will not work. If you want to pair up two characters from different series, be reasonable and have them warm up to one another before jumping into bed. Sex is fine, but jumping into bed every two posts is called being a whore/slut. We are not your one-stop source for senseless pornography. And also, if a character is in a relationship with another character, stay out of it unless those players state they want you involved. If Kamui says he only likes boys, don’t force heterosexuality on him. It’s just not going to work.
Spoilers:
If your character is far ahead in storyline… don’t just jump on another character and spill your life story to them. It is ok to discuss the current happenings with other players, but it isn’t necessary to give them a play by play as soon as they arrive. Part of the fun is unlocking the story through long term interaction. If you learn everything all at once, what is the fun in that? And respect that some characters do not want to know about things that have not happened in the American translations. If you post something with a spoiler, put a warning about it and put the post under a cut. This is simply to be fair. Most here are ahead, so it may not pose a major problem, but be considerate regardless. Besides, no one likes a gossiping loud mouth.
Leaving the Game:
If you feel you don’t want to play anymore, please state this clearly and be certain of your decision. As you will be required to make a journal specifically for this RPG, you may also leave the name and password for future players to pick up if you were an active participant. Either way, an OOC post is required to be given with a brief reason for vacating and abandoning story.
