action || open
[Nothing seems out of the ordinary at the start. The season has changed with the date, abrupt as ever, bringing with it clear signs of the beginning of Fall, a chilly atmosphere replacing the warmth of summer. However, that isn't the only change today – and to anyone finding themselves near any of the many bodies of water around Miracle Country, the difference will become apparent very quickly.

The ocean, the river, the lake, it all slowly but surely rises and overflows, flooding the surrounding areas more and more every second. Good luck finding shelter, as the water level will continue to rise until the buildings, the forests and part of the caves around the islands are all submerged. The trees will seem to expand underwater, until makeshift bridges form from the tangled growth of branches, surprisingly sturdy. In lieu of the usual places to go, people may notice that clear domes will start to rise out of the water, each with supplies inside like blankets, pillows, and bandages. Be careful not to drop them into the sea! Others may find treehouses above the waters with similar basic supplies, none too cozy otherwise. And in the worst case scenario? There are the usual boats to be found.

Food will be available in the varied amount of fish and other animals to be caught in the water. For those who frequent the river or beach, it'll be clear there's a much higher amount of them, of all sorts of colors and sizes. One thing that doesn't change is the rising danger the closer one gets to the area of the forests, and deeper waters may hold even more frightening enemies, even monsters. More rare fish and other creatures live around these areas, as well. Careful where you fish. For those that can get around, there are a few islands here and there, the most important of which is at the location of the Sakura tree, of course. These hold some large containers for drinkable water, some are full and others empty but refillable.

There's a catch, though. Water dragons will be appearing near the island that usually holds the pure water reservoir, guarding it. Anyone that approaches will find that these dragons telepathically make requests of visitors in exchange for the water. Things like fishing for a rare type of fish, bringing them a specific fruit from the trees in the forests, looking for an item that's lying underwater, maybe seeing a specific type of magic/skill or hearing a story. They can be pretty creative, so it's best to be ready for anything – that is, if you're not too intimidated to approach at all.]

[[Our flood event starts! Go here for any questions.]]

[Looks around and then finally up]

Oh, hey! Sure, just jump down!

Okay... H-Here goes...

[There's an audible gulp - and down jumps Mickey!]

[The boat rocks back and forth pretty significantly when Mickey lands and there's a moment where it looks like water is about to flood in from one side before Goku quickly moves back to compensate.]

Gotcha! You need a lift, huh?

[Is it your imagination, or is the guy shaking like a leaf?]

I'd appreciate it! I didn't think that branch was gunna hold me much longer.

[He doesn't think that's his imagination.]

... Can't swim?

... Uh. Well.

K-Kinda, yeah... I'm not exactly a fan of deep water.

[Smiles comfortingly. Someone else being scared helps distract him from his own fears.]

Don't worry about it. I'm a pretty good swimmer, so if anything happens I'll make sure you don't drown or anything. And this water is pretty calm, so the boat should be fine.

That's good to hear.

[After a sigh, he settles down a bit.]

And I know I can trust you.

Eh? Really? How come?

[Mickey can trust Goku, of course, but saying it outright surprises him a little.]

[... Good enough for Goku!]

Heh. Thanks! You seem pretty nice too. [For a weird talking mouse person, but who is he to judge? Goku goes to pick the oars up again.] Anyway, where to?

Anywhere away from the water.

[He doesn't even wanna look at it, if he can help it.]

There's some real big tree roots and stuff! And little floating bubble things! But even the islands I've seen have been pretty small, so you're close to the water no matter what...

And I dunno if the water's stopped rising yet...

Ugh... I'm hoping this is one of those "one day only" events. They tend to end before you even know it.

Can all this really go away in one day? There's so much water.

[Sure it all showed up in one day but still.]

The magic in this place is honestly like nothing I've ever encountered before. It can create buildings and then make them vanish without a second thought. It can even play with our memories.

What? You mean like making us forget stuff?

[Nod-nod.]

And making us believe things that weren't true.

Around the time I first arrived, it suddenly made me believe I always lived here, and led a whole different life.

Right. He still remembers. He still knows the name to call for, not just "someone". He's okay.]

That's... [Scary. Enraging. Sad.] ... Bullshit.

Believe me, I don't like it either.

... Truth be told... that's why I can't leave this world yet, even if I found a way out for myself. I want to help everyone here.

... We gotta break it.

[He can't forget, he won't forget, he's not getting trapped somewhere with no memories again, no matter how nice everyone there is- it's okay, it's okay, it's okay.]

That's it, right? If we break the spell or the world or whatever, we can all leave and no one'll get captured again.
