[With people's memories (hopefully) back to normal, it's time for something different. This time, it's no blood ritual nor messing up with your heads that Kiseki has planned for everyone, no. Instead, it's something more relaxing this time. Fluffy, you could call it...

Everyone will be temporarily getting kigurumi, or animal-themed onesies for the non-weeaboo. That's right, you can fulfill your life-long dream of running around dressed as a kitty, or a mouse, or whatever else. Embrace Miracle Country and be an Usyagi, even!

What is the idea behind these cuddly shenanigans? Well, nothing too terrible. Hopefully you'll have fun with it. Or you'll loathe it and end up hiding in your room for the rest of the day. Perhaps you'll simply continue your usual routine while ignoring the change. Of course, should you want to get rid of them, you'll be able to, but any normal clothes will be temporarily gone from the world. But no worries! It'll all be replaced by... other kigurumis. You really can choose to be an Usyagi, if you'd like. You're welcome.]

Would you like a scarier costume? Or don't you like the change?

[The magic behind the change, that is. She's not sure she's on board for this sudden change, either, but it's not like she can do much about it... Sansa only wishes she'd gotten something else than a wolf-costume.

... then again, if the option was a lion costume, on the other hand? Yes, sticking to the wolf seems far better.]

More the change. [even if he got a better costume, he'd still absolutely hate this blatant display of magic.]

Magic's dangerous. It's uncontrolled chaos at its worse, destructive and too powerful. Using it for mundane crap like this? Not as innocent as it might want to seem.

[It's taking simple things away from them, fucking around with their own controls and agency. It has no purpose like this.]

[Her tentative lightness of tone disappears at that -- it is the same thing she thought; magic is unknown to her, something she has never really encountered, before... and as harmless as this costume change might be, she can't help but feel apprehensive about it anyway.]

... I don't know magic. Back home... we don't have it, or if we do, I've never seen it. But if this is the same magic that brought those monsters here--

[-- then how can they judge this as somehow less dangerous, if it all comes from the same source?]

[nods a little; he knows there are worlds that people come from that doesn't have any magic. It isn't too difficult a concept for him to grasp, since he hardly has a lot of interactions with magic beyond knowing mages, dealing with magical demon crap, etc. If anything, it's reassuring to him to know that there are places where the Fade doesn't reach]

Dorian says it is. [As much as Dorian can discern the magic around here, which as far as Bull can tell is difficult to pin down, even for someone as intelligent with magic as Dorian] Means that even innocent crap like this can mean something.

Important thing to do is keep your head.

So it's true. Even something like this... it could be dangerous.

["Innocent crap", as he puts it, is hardly threatening on its own; but Sansa is unfamiliar with magic, and the thought of it doing... something else, the knowledge that it can change even something like her clothes at will so easily... it isn't reassuring.]

I understand. But... what good is that, if we can't stop it? Even if we're careful, if they can do something like this so easily... isn't there anything to stop that?

[... Doesn't want to upset her unnecessarily with his own weird way of seeing things and messed up head. she's been through enough - he can tell that much even if he doesn't know the details. Offers a small smile and a little shrug, dismissing away what he's just all said. Hey...]

Not sure if there is. I'm no expert on the magic. But, hey... you've always got a choice. [whether or not that's true, well-- he's got a difficult relationship with the idea of 'choice', but the idea tends to be reassuring.] It's about finding the good side to things. Friends. Good food. Soft beds. That kinda stuff.

No... you don't.

[That's one of the lies people tell you -- that you have a choice. Sometimes, more often than not in her experience... you have absolutely no choice at all, not if you want to live.]

I suppose that is true, at least. Even if we're surrounded by something that is dangerous... people can be dangerous, too. Even without magic. [And she has survived King's Landing... she will survive this, too.]

I don't care if I don't know what we're dealing with... this is still better than home.

[He wouldn't disagree with the sentiment, but he'd also say that it's a choice to submit or to die. That's still a choice, even if one people don't want to make or consider a choice.]

You won't be the first one to think that. [about it being better than home]

No, I'm sure I'm not. Many people must have reasons for not wanting to go back.

[She stands a little straighter, her words steady, calm.] I know I cannot stay here forever. And when I'm taken back... I know I will not remember this. I will marry Lord Tyrion, the king will walk me down the aisle... and I won't remember. It is for the better.

[At least for his part, he's not about to baby her or tell her that you never know!!1 because yeah. people face shitty situations and shitty lots in life and having a taste of hope or a better future can be a good thing or it can be a devastating thing. It's not his place to say.]

[Just nods, instead.] Asit tal-eb.

[And because he knows there's no way you're gonna know Qunlat:] "It is to be." Main principle in the Qun.

[You wouldn't be a good convert, though. You're not vidathari material.]

Asit ta- [she pauses, licks her lips, breathes out. tries again] Asit tal-eb.

[Why is it so important to get the words right, to say them with enough weight that they will stay in her mind, like those songs she learned as a child, the ones she remembers even now?

Sansa isn't sure -- she only knows the words... hold meaning for him, and treating them with anything less would be disrespectful.]

... it means that there are things that will happen, ones that you can't change. [Again, a question without being posed as one; did she understand it correctly or not? She doesn't know.]

[Nods a bit - her pronunciation is about as good as a human can manage with Qunlat, an exceptionally difficult language to learn. But she got the gist of it, so that's good.]

Hmm. Been a while since I've had to translate it. It means... [pauses, trying to collect the best way to describe it. He doesn't often do so. He isn't a missionary or anything like that, has never set out to convert people. Usually his discussion of the Qun is more in its defense, since so many people outside the Qun just don't understand it.]

It's like this. A plague endures and causes suffering. And earthquakes shake the ground. It's what they are. They can't change that or choose to be something different. They're bound by their being. That's Asit tal-eb.

But it also means that... the self and the world are one. Existence is a choice. A self suffers and so suffers in the world. A self endures and so endures in the world.

It's a choice we can refuse. A self that refuses will refuse the world. If a self accepts what it is and what its being is bound by, then it accepts the world is binds within.

[Scratches at one of his horns with a small shrug.] It's tough to put it into words. It's... what it is.

[She listens, silent and careful, her face a perfect mask -- well, a perfect mask for anyone but someone who is attuned to reading the slightest of emotions, and so Bull can probably spot the contemplation, the moment when she realizes she understands.]

Existence... is a choice. We're bound by who we are... we can't change that. [She has never thought of it that way, but it is true: she is bound by who she is. She is a Stark, Ned Stark's daughter, a branded traitor... and she will never be anything else, not truly. But she accepted it, and that is why she has survived in King's Landing. She endures everything... and so she's still alive. That is what playing the game of thrones means, in the end.]

Thank you, for explaining it to me. I think... I understand better, now.

[Nods a little - watching her face carefully indeed. Just filing it all away, for now.]

Glad to help. Not sure how much help it can be but... hey. It's something.
