catch on, Air Gear (Agito/Yayoi)
Title: catch on Author: shiegra Rating: PG13 Wordcount: 328
Prompt: Air Gear - Agito/Yayoi - jealousy/possesiveness - she was suppose to be the smart one, right?
The thing was, Yayoi was the practical one.
Emiri knew this. Nearly all their life they'd been the balance and counter-measure, Emiri's wildness and Yayoi's patient, steady and sometimes faintly sarcastic logic. Yayoi studied and strategized and could be downright irritatingly perceptive.
So Emiri had no idea what the hell was going on here.
Besides the obvious; Yayoi standing in the hall talking calmly to a red-faced and earnest boy, vague impatience flickering over her features. And Agito watching with the curious intensity he’d been observing her with ever since they got home again.
“Thanks,” Yayoi said, her voice briefly audible through a lull in the classroom’s noise, “but—” And then it was swallowed up again.
Emiri watched the tilt of her head, the shift of her shoulders. Not uncomfortable, but approaching bored. Honestly, Yayoi was usually quicker on the uptake than this on all accounts.
Luckily, before Agito's stare could shift from prickly, hostile assessment to actual antagonism, class ended and Kogaramasu gravitated to their respective feet, chattering and occasionally dealing out comradely violence. Yayoi glanced over her shoulder and threw her classmate a quick, apologetically dismissive smile, turning away.
The boy caught her wrist.
Emiri didn't actually see Agito move--the boy was freaking fast when he wanted to be--but she saw him halt just behind Yayoi, brushing her shoulder blade with his front. She jolted and went red, and he slanted a slow, feral glance at the other guy and a sharp grin flared over his face, making the boy release her wrist as though burned. Then he said something to Yayoi, not quite touching her, and she smiled and shrugged and turned to go.
Emiri yawned and leaned back on her hands. Show over, she contemplated telling Agito that there were other ways to stake a claim than inflicting mental trauma, but was quickly distracted by the need to bare her own teeth at girls clustering a little too close to Kazu-sama.
