Yeah I-- don't even know how it would go, really, beyond "Vino. Lucifer. Vino. Lucifer. jald;afjdlsd". That's as far as my brain ever gets ._____.
I usually don't mind the looks-caucasian thing in anime, and most of the time it doesn't actually read that way, to me (since honestly, anime characters don't really look any more like white people than japanese people, most of the time. Since. Cartoon characters.) but I find it really noticable in baccano, which DOES have some racial minorities -- there's both black and asian people and so, to me, it makes the lack-of-italian-ness really, really apparent.
Which is a shame, imho, because yes. Their nationality is so important to the mafia, and I would have really, really loved to see more of a difference, there. (For instance, I love the difference between Nicolas and Ethan. I would have loved to be able to see the difference between Luck and Dallas, more, because I'm pretty sure that the Genoards are white, white people.)
