She was, as it so happened, in the bath when they attacked.
Glass shattered explosively downstairs and she was already scrambling upright, reaching for something--anything--that she could use for cover. Long exposure to Kogaramasu and their volatile attraction for enemies bred instincts into your bones, and she was hoping to get out of the bath before the fight reached this room, though her team had a tendency to spread damage fast. She knew; she'd timed it often enough, and their average was fifteen seconds before destroying structures in a radius that would include the upstairs bathroom in this place. If she moved quick enough--
Too late. The wall exploded under air pressure and several bodies, sending limp forms, dressed in black padded uniforms that reminded her of SWAT teams on TV skidding across the bathroom floor. Yayoi gave a poorly aborted shriek and lunged for the nearest blunt object instead, yet another fine honed instinct.
She had no idea how they'd even survived the impact, but one was moving, albeit sluggishly, enough to justify yanking the towel rack off the wall, loose screws popping free of plaster.
Before she could make a move, fingers closed over her arm and hauled backwards, and she smacked into Agito, pressed wet against the line of his side and then shouldered halfway behind as he paused on the tile. The form slumped back into stillness after only a split second, and he turned a scowl on her.
"What the hell did you think you were--"
The words choked off in his throat as he paid attention for the first time to her clothing, or rather distinct lack thereof. Yayoi yelped and turned hastily trying to shield sensitive areas with hands, hair, and the narrow piece of metal.
"Get a--" He started to say, but the cabinet that might have contained towels had been demolished with the rest of the wall.
"Well?" She said, covering up the squeak in her voice with panicked demand. "Are you going to stand there or do something about this?"
"Oi, Agito!" Ikki shouted, voice approaching, and the pure thrill of horror that shot through her was mind boggling. Oh, no...
Deja vu flickered as a jacket dropped over her shoulders. His fingers touched her arms for a brief second, sending lightning over her skin, and they both froze momentarily.
She cleared her throat uneasily and started backing towards the door and the prone bodies, not meeting his eyes. She had to kick a body out of the way to make room, but she managed, and Agito gave her an inscrutable, feral-gold glance when she finally looked up at his face.
"Thanks." She said, blushing furiously, before managing to haul the door open enough to slip into the haul.
"Yeah--" He said, voice low, and then shouted, "I'm coming, fucking crow!" In a voice spiny-sharp with irritation.
