Sally sighed deeply staring out of the window of her room. The light falling on the thick plush carpet in beams echoing the bars that were on the window. The most recent addition to the house after her escape to go skinny dipping in the little river at the end of the road their house was situated on. It had been exciting, escaping the house and her husband for the night. Thrilling, that she could be caught by a policeman, or worse the professor, it had gotten her blood pumping and she wanted more. She was so lost in thought and memory that she nearly fell off of her seat when she heard her husband yell from downstairs. She swallowed hard, "Yes my Love?" she called down to him as she got up and straightened up her dress. His reply came muffled but she knew what he wanted. "I'll be there with your breakfast soon Darling." She took a deep calming breath, deciding that today she'd use that stash she'd bought a couple of escapes ago. She dashed to her bathroom and opened up her medicine cabinet. Carefully removing the secret panel that led to a hole in the wall. She fished around soon retrieving the little baggy of Flunitrazepam, the man on the street had called a 'roofie'. She slipped a couple of the tabs from the bag into her palm before going back downstairs to him. She walked into the kitchen, "Hello Love" she said brightly kissing his forehead nd going to the fridge. She opened the door and looked inside "Eggs and bacon, and fried bread?" she offered listening to his grunt of approval. She smiled brightly before taking the things to the cooker and starting to make his breakfast. She broke the eggs and started to whisk them breaking the tabs up into them before starting to make them. "How do you plan on spending your day off love?" she asked not really listening to his answer as she finished and served. She smiled sitting down and slowly eating her own breakfast watching him eating as he talked about the project he was currently working on. She smiled absently nodding at the appropriate moment, making noises like she was listening. By the end of his breakfast he was muttering about feeling strangely dopey. "Best go lie down love" she said smiling as he kissed her cheek and headed up to his bedroom. Once she was certain he was in bed and asleep she rushed to the back door whistling for Zero to come and join her. She smiled and scratched his ears. "Ok, fetch" she said pushing open the little dog door. Watching Zero rush out. A few moments later he came back with a rock in his mouth. "Good BOY!" she praised as she took it from him. It had taken her hours to teach him to fetch the right rock. The one that had a secret compartment inside and the spare key. She laughed happily as she unlocked the door and went out shutting the door carefully behind him. The day of adventure had started. She just had to choose where to go first. After a couple of hours wandering around town, she'd already had so much fun. She'd sat on Santa's knee, she'd kissed a couple of guys who'd waved Mistletoe at her, she'd bought some christmas presents, which she knew would give away her adventure to her husband not that she was really too worried. She had after all bought him a beautiful wallet with his initials on. She'd also slipped into the cinema and watched a movie for free. She'd then enjoyed a Gingerbread latte in the coffee shop, as well as a chocolate pastry and some very strong little mints. Also on her trip around town she'd had a couple of visions. One of a man about to be knocked over. Despite the fragmented nature of the vision it was clear enough that she'd realised it was about to happen. Eyes wide she ran across the road at him knocking him over backwards and back onto the pavement, both of them narrowly missing being ran over. She smiled at him and put a kiss to the end of his nose. "Remember to look both ways as you cross the road sweetie" she smiled before getting back up and carrying on her way. Content that she'd done good by slipping out today. She felt almost like skipping as she carried on down the road. But she resisted the urge not really wanting to stand out that much especially when she stepped out of the way of being sprayed by a car passing through a puddle causing someone else to be soaked. Come lunch time she'd done so much and had such fun she wasn't really sure what else she could do given her limited time. Figuring she had only a couple of hours left at the most. She headed to Tink's bar. Taking a seat at the bar she ordered a pumpkin juice. One of her favourite reasons to escape from home. Sitting at the bar she pulled a travel sewing kit out of her purse, threading a needle in the right colour to fix a small tear to her shirt she'd gained knocking the jay walker over. She started to hum softly to herself as she started to darn the tear and sip the pumpkin juice. |
