'Complicated' was one way to put it. Link didn't know nearly as much as Zelda probably did at that point, though he knew just enough to know that her explanation of 'gift of the Goddess' wasn't as accurate as all that, but probably a lot easier of an explanation to give to ... well, anyone who didn't have time to sit down and hear the whole history, assuming that Zelda had the entire history in her head. She'd certainly had the last hundred years of actively using it to learn about it. Link would've been surprised to find out that she didn't know more than he did.
Link would ask her later what she knew, see if she couldn't fill in the holes that the Sword had left in its retelling of its history.
And, all right, all right, maybe fill in the holes that it'd already told him, but damned if he'd had a chance to think about any of it since the Sword well and truly claimed him.
"We'll get the full story out somehow," Link said. "As much as we can. But yeah, we'd better raid the store so we can eat tonight."
He walked over to the door, leaving Ivee to go back to sweeping her leaves, and probably still with that confused look on her face, and opened it for Zelda. "Ladies first."
