Yammo nodded. "I do," she said. "That sounded like there was more to it than just protecting the queen's feelings. It sounded like he was protecting something of his own, and if he actually is in love with the queen, then a relationship is something he probably wants, and wouldn't want to take the chance of ruining it before it happened. Whether he has good reason to think that would happen to how the queen feelings if she found out he was involved in your pregnancy or not, I don't know, but I have a good feeling that it's not something he knows how to handle. Whether he's only lying to those around him, or if he's lying to himself first and foremost, isn't important. It's obviously something that he just doesn't know how to handle."
She tilted her head, giving Zumi a questioning look. "And did you notice how ambiguous his answer about his amnesia making some things a moot point was? He said that 'even if something had been said or done back then.' That was vauge. If it honestly was something that was entirely on the queen's side, why wouldn't he have specified that the 'said or done' would've been done by the queen, rather than leaving it open as something that could've been mutual? After how much he emphasized that it was only on her side?"
