Zumi hesitated, not because she wanted to change how up front they were with each other any more than Yammo did, but because she just wasn't sure how to put what she saw into words.
So she stared at the ground as they walked, thinking a moment. "I'd never known him as anything but just Link. Just a good guy who made the place feel safe, despite his bottomless source of snark and an equally bottomless pit for a stomach. But when he said that, he... he was more than that. He really was the Sword's Chosen. It was like I could see how much destiny had put on his shoulders, and how much he hides where it can't be seen because of it."
She sighed, releasing some tension from her shoulders and gave Yammo a weak smile. "I guess I just got a little scared by how gigantic he suddenly seemed in that little frame of his."
Then she looked off in front of them, watching where they were going. "And honestly, it makes me just as glad that he turned down the role of parent. I think keeping our child as far away from that legacy as possible is the best thing we can do for them."
