Zumi went rapidly from confusion, to an almost-excitement at getting to see new things that crazy piece of technology did, to that small feeling when Link said that old man was younger than him.
She sat up slowly, holding her hand out to the Slate without thinking about it, as if asking to pick up a piece of paper, then withdrew her hand, distantly realizing that was probably not an okay thing.
"He's six years younger than you?" she said, whisper-soft, still feeling small. She worked on shoving that away by focusing on the woman in the picture instead. "That's the queen? She's aged as well as you have."
There, make that a thing to joke about, not something to feel deeply scared of.
"Straight hair, long. Good. Curly's pretty, but it looks like it'd be tough to work with on a daily basis, and my own hair's mostly straight. Going into this with her having curly hair would be entirely new ground for me. Straight hair I can work with. And I'm glad it's long, there's more you can do with long hair."
She gave him a sunny smile. "That was the whole point about mine that made you think of this, after all."
