"He does, and something occurs to me now that I've been there a day and the town knows the queen's living there," Link said, unclipping the Slate from his hip and pulling up the album. "It might be a good idea to get a picture of you two to show to the guys who are usually right at the entrance of town. They know the queen's there, and the Yiga are out here, and they were already a bit jumpy with the monster population increasing when I woke up and the towers popped out of the ground."
He looked up to see their confused faces.
Oh, that's right. That was another function they didn't know about.
"The Slate creates true-to-life images and stores them inside an album," he said, hitting upon another idea and scrolling back a couple pages in the album. He'd been looking to see if there was even any memory left for another picture, or if he'd had to delete one or two redundant pictures from the day before, but there was a specific picture in there that would serve two purposes- one, showing them what he was talking about with the Slate, and two, showing them what Zelda looked like. It might give Zumi a chance to start thinking of at least a suggestion for Zelda and maybe Link to try to work out without bothering her.
He pulled up the picture of Zelda and Tokk from their first morning in Hateno, and turned the Slate to show the image to them. "That's Zelda. The older gentleman is Tokk. He was fourteen when the Calamity happened, was serving at Fort Hateno. He was the one that verified our identities for the town."
A deprecating smile twitched at his lips. "Believe it or not, that guy's actually six years younger than me."
