Zumi was on her way to awake enough by the time that Yammo said something that she'd already been able to notice and be grateful to realize that her morning sickness was taking a sick day of its own. Or at least being polite enough to not be the thing that woke her up.
Yammo's voice pulled her the rest of the way to the surface from the cool depths of sleep, and she smiled, looking around until she found her fiance sitting next to the head of her bed.
"Morning," she said, taking the time to take in a deep breath and an accompanying small stretch of her back, before letting herself enjoy the warmth of her cocoon of blankets against the chilly morning air. For a second, anyway, as that chill was accompanied by a heavy humidity from the swamp the stable bordered. She didn't kick off her covers in protest, but she half-emerged, letting a little of that chill hit her skin and cool her off a little before it got warm enough that she started overheating in air too full of moisture for sweat to evaporate to cool her naturally.
The sounds of stablehands outside going through a familiar routine, with accompanying lingering smell of cooked food, told her about what time it was, and that Yammo must've woken up a little early. She looked up at her to ask her what time she'd gotten up, and noticed that her hair was damp from a shower she had to have taken close to an hour ago.
Slowly, her heart started to sink into her stomach, nerves deciding to make up for the morning sickness being slow to work that morning. Something was on Yammo's mind, something serious, and with everything going on even the last week, the rapid turns their lives were taking, Zumi was scared that it was a Bad Something Serious, and Bad was the last thing she wanted, last thing she felt she could deal with right then.
Swallowing back the fear and the queasiness it caused, she forced a weak smile. "So suddenly you letting me just be jittery and upset about being stuck at a stable makes a lot more sense," she said, voice quiet to Private Conversation levels. "You've got something on your mind." Deep breath. "What is it?"
