Perhaps, she thought, it was a bit of a blessing that Link didn't yet have all of his memories. The sun shining down on them, the birds singing in the air, the scent of flowers and cooking and life around them invigorated her in a way she had never had the luxury to bask in previously.
A hundred years ago, Link would never have seen her smiling this brightly, laughing with this much joy. He wouldn't have seen the light flush along her cheeks, induced by her mirth and their banter.
And she never thought she'd be able to share this part of herself with him...with anyone.
That was worth everything she had been through, right there. Laughing, joking, living with the knight who had been sworn to protect her.
