Bolson had to hand it to Link; the man knew how to flatter like a pro. He propped his chin on his wrist, hand tiredly dangling and elbow on the table. "That's quite a title to be claiming," he said. "All right, you've intrigued me. I'll even refrain from finishing my coffee to go meet this queen. The Hylian Champion is asking a favor of me, far be it from me to leave him waiting."
He looked at Karson. "Karson, I'll leave it in your capable hands to return the coffee cups to Prima. I couldn't possibly insult the queen and the Hylian Champion by not being ready for them when they send for me. Catch up, and prepare to dazzle me~"
Karson stood up, staring at Link a second as he wondered if he'd lost his mind. Any of the three of them. Was this really reality? "You got it, Boss," he said, grabbing both half-empty mugs, forced to look away from this weirdness to make sure he didn't spill anything.
Both men disappeared back into the inn, Karson swinging off to the kitchen area to deposit the mugs, and Bolson going on out the front door.
"I must say," he said to Link once he'd joined him and they were walking down the stairs, "for as much as you've impressed me, you're not quite what I'd expect for the Hylian Champion. You certainly have aged well."
