It was a good thing she ran off so fast, she was gone before he could do more than drop his jaw and feel insulted. He might've been tempted to do terrible things to her for that.
He shot Seldon a dirty look when he started to laugh, then ran out, just barely remembering to shut the door behind him.
The bridge wasn't safe for two people to go across side-by-side, and he didn't feel comfortable leaving her behind to run past her before getting there, no matter how badly he wanted to make the point that oh no, he could absolutely run faster than her. So he was forced to let her get to the door first.
