It felt like it took the woman entirely too long to put the eyeliner on, but given that it was for instructional purposes, and not because she was prettying him up, it was probably about the right amount of time. It took him a couple times of the pencil getting near to not close his eyes- she wasn't wrong about that -but there he sat, getting makeup put on him.
At least the finished product didn't look bad. He'd hate to go around the rest of the time in town looking terrible.
He was going to be washing that stuff off the second he was able to get away from town and could change. Under no circumstances was he going back to Hateno with that on. Even if he was willing to put up with the other residents giving him shit over it, he wasn't going to take even the sliver of a chance that it would become known why he was wearing that- or if he went for broke to play up the disguise and ever used it again -and have that information spread. The more people knew that there was a man waltzing about Gerudo Town, the higher the chances that someone who could cause trouble over it would find out.
And going around with even a little makeup was outside of what the townsfolk knew his character to be. It'd be more than a little noticed if he suddenly changed his ways that much, especially without a good reason.

Speaking of 'good reasons,' he had to make sure that Zelda didn't make this mandatory for formal events. He would give her more than bare minimum effort into his appearance for those, but putting on makeup was too far the other way for his tastes. Maybe at one time, it wouldn't have mattered one way or another, but he'd spent inching towards a year living as a homeless vagabond, the only attention he had to pay towards what he wore was how practical it was. He wasn't fond of the idea of having to be this fussy about his appearance on a regular basis, and at some point down the line, formal events were going to be more the norm than not.

Please don't let her make this mandatory, because goddess-damn-it-all, he'd indulge her, and he knew it.
