He'd figured out how Muzu worked enough to know how to keep him cooperating. Between memory that was getting the dust blown off, and just working with him through calming Ruta back down, he was finding that the old man was easier to play than he probably realized, and definitely easier than he would like.
"That's something you'll have to talk about with Zelda though," he continued. "I'm not the expert on the technology, that's her field. I can get Ruta working again, the Slate seems to be a master key of sorts, but how the Beasts work without it, I have no idea. I wasn't even in sight of center stage on that fight when that was going on. I'll let you two sit down and piece together what you remember before we go about finding someone to take up Ruta's reins."
