Ivee's back was to the queen, so she didn't see that blush, but she was pretty sure she heard a dodge in there. She wasn't sure what part was being dodged, but her father was the town's 'Trusted Adult Figure,' and that was a job Ivee was set to inherit along with the store. Learning how to recognize when information needed to be handled carefully was something she'd been doing since childhood.
The follow-up to recognizing was the part Ivee wasn't the greatest at yet, and whatever it was she just heard, Ivee got the feeling it wasn't something she could throw at her father. The queen was taking Ivee into her confidence, and was a woman Ivee's age- a couple years younger, if one ignored the century she was frozen in time -which put Ivee as the best one to address it.
Which meant Ivee was going to have to step up to the job. And her first instinct was to not bring it up until she was certain that they would be 100% alone. Even if Sophie was in on this 'ladies-in-waiting' thing, having any sort of audience tended to make people freeze and shut down.
So she let it go for the moment, smiling at the compliment as she took her bowl over to the table. "Thank you! If you gimme a minute, I'll get the rice out to the table. I don't cook the two together, 'cause everyone I cook this for prefers different amounts of rice in their soup, so I just put a bowl with the rice on the table and tell people to dig in."
