Karin's eyes got so wide that they could've doubled as dinner plates.
Clavia sighed, rolling her eyes heavenwards. "Karin. Darling child mine. No, that is not an excuse for asking for it for every meal or snack. I can't imagine any amount of 'hearty' in a fruit can counter the havoc sugar wreaks on your energy levels and your head's ability to stay attached to your shoulders."
Sure would've appreciated it if the queen hadn't added that little part. Just wait until she was a mother. Clavia would theoretically be on good enough terms with her by then that she'd not feel a lick of guilt or shame at striking revenge at her.
Karin instantly stuck her lip out. "But it's more okay than like cookies or something, right?"
