Sophie looked at Ivee, a bit owl-eyed and frozen, mentally clutching at her diversion tactic and letting it pull her poor, easily stressed brain back to safer ground.
Okay. Yes. Something practical that needed attention and was on a small scale that she could handle without having a potential meltdown in front of someone who was still new to her, no matter how much she already liked her. Her occasional attack of panic was something she was sensitive about and would rather as few people as possible see.
