Ivee had sighed with relief when the queen said she'd put a stop to that nonsense if it started again, then froze when she was told she'd have anything resembling an official position. Not that she protested being a friend of the queen, heavens no! But... there were special words for that?
She just about offered an explanation as to how same sex couples had children, at least among the common folk, though she couldn't imagine it would've been any different for the nobles back then, given that she doubted they had medical technology that could get around the pesky need for the opposite sex's genitalia in the conception process, but then it sunk in that the queen had gotten to adulthood and never had these things explained to her.
"They didn't give you any sort of education about sexuality and reproduction growing up?" she asked, feeling a little disheartened to hear just how much the queen had apparently been deprived of by her social class. Right down to not having the independence to have been taught how to style her own hair beyond basic braids. "That's one of the first things we're taught. Please tell me you were at least braced when that time of the month started visiting, rather than them just letting you wake up to a terrifying surprise one morning. If they failed you even on that, I may have to figure out how to go back in time and have words for some people, 'cause that's just cruel to do to a girl."
