Ivee's eyes widened. "Married as children?" she exclaimed, aghast at the thought. "Oh good grief, I hope you change those rules! Marriages should be about love, and people should at least be adults first!"
She shook her head, filling up the wash basin to soak the dishes in. "I can't imagine living like that. We tell kids under fifteen that they're not old enough to go that far, but other than that, what people do in the privacy of their bedrooms is their own business, as long as everyone's enthusiastically consenting. It's not too common here in town for anyone to 'dally about,' as you put it, without already having an emotional attachment that would lead to marriage anyway, but it's not unheard of.
