Ivee wasn't sure what should be her first reaction- annoyance at her father for volunteering her to do something that she hadn't wanted to do (she'd told him no to that herself this morning for a reason! she plain hadn't been in the mood to make that tired old dish!), or paralyzed shock that the queen was asking her to keep her company!
The shock won for a few seconds, then the annoyance informed her that it'd be a good ice breaker- show the queen that she would be entertaining company!
"Oh, that man!" she said in exasperation. "I swear he thinks that's all I should make for the rest of my life sometimes. I have plenty of dishes I make just as well." She shook her head, then grinned. "But who am I to tell the queen no when she asks for my company?"
She waved to Seldon, who was doing his normal idling about, though he somehow seemed serious about it that morning. Well, he was unofficial tour guide for the town, and the town had just become the kingdom's capitol, Ivee couldn't really blame him for deciding it was more important than just an excuse to leave the work for Sophie. "Seldon! Will you please tell Nack that he's going to have to get the water jug himself today? I have other work to do today."
