Who: Ariel Templeton (The Unicorn) and Humperdinck Dumpington (Humpty Dumpty). When: Monday afternoon, after Storm is gone. Where: Ariel's shop. What: Humpty Dumpty comes in for some finery to help catch the eyes of the ladies. Rating: Low, I should think?
With new fabrics from one of his favourite garden spirits, Ariel was eagerly creating in his mind's eye, and on paper as well. His fingers were clenched tightly around a pencil as he worked to get the designs out of his head and onto said paper as fast as was possible, before he lost the inspiration. A dress, a dress, a remarkable suit, a wonderful coat, oh, these pieces were going to be amazing and lovely, and he was murmuring to himself, little notions and ideas.
When he finally finished, he had several sheets of parchment paper, covered with a variety of designs, and rather sore fingertips, from holding the pencil so tight. But it was well worth it, and Ariel was practically ready to leap at the first swatch of fabric and get right to work.
But then the bells above the door to the shop jingle jangled in a cheerful way. Ariel's attention went right to the door then, because that meant an arrival! A customer, or a friend, perhaps, either way, Ariel was glad to greet them.
And he did. The Unicorn rose from his chair in a swish of long pale hair and a guazy sort of skirt that he currently wore. He crossed the shop, around various mannequins that displayed some of his pieces, those that were not comissions, but were for sale. A smile bloomed on his face as he watched the young man pass through the doors.
"Hello. Welcome to Golden Whimsy. How can I help you today?"
