Not a local. Just a longtimer. What's your question?

Just wondering about population density, layout, what sort of protections are in place to keep the wildlife out, if that happens to keep us in as well. Things I would need to know to be properly advised of the terrain.

The population fluctuates a lot. People get sent back and forth all the time. It's laid out like a normal town. City hall is the center. We've got schools, stores. There is a wall. It's always got people on it to monitor and be the first line of defense should something get in. The buildings are pretty sturdy so you'll be safe from them.

Sturdy means defensible. That's at least a positive sign. The first line of defense isn't always foolproof.

They're all pretty badass.

Even the most badass of the badasses can get beaten. Especially when the opponent is a hundred times their size. I doubt even Melinda could take down a T-Rex.

Melinda May?

Yeah.

Which now that I think about it, I probably should have checked that she was here before I said anything. She'd take that as a challenge if she saw it.

She's not. But I wouldn't bet on a T-Rex against her.

So you're another Coulson?

Seems like.

Let me guess. Morse? You're not quite the same level of blond that I'm used to, but other than that.

The blond comes and goes. But that would be me. Nice to know there's more of me somewhere.

She's a highly competent agent and a brilliant scientist. It's not often that you come across someone that's a double threat like that, even in SHIELD. I'm guessing (hoping) the same holds true in your reality?

I wouldn't have said it like that, but since you did, I'll take it.

I'm more of a field agent though, or I was. I did lab time and it didn't really take. Are you running SHIELD still, in your world?

That does seem to be the preference now. Though, Jemma does occasionally need help that none of the rest of us can offer.

And good god, no. There's no still to it. Never was. Never will be if the gods are kind. Hill's in charge right now. Or, at least, she was until Pleasant Hill.

I'm not sure what's going to happen now.

I pitch in and help ours too, but she has systems and usually her and Fitz have things handled.

You know, I always wondered why it wasn't Hill at home. I think she lost the drive after Hydra, wanted something different. Did that mess go down on your end?

Be ready for the big chair, just in case.

True. But there is only so much a mechanical engineer can help a biochemist with, even with a Quantum Mechanics specialty.

Depends on which after HYDRA you mean. There's more than a few options there.

Ugh. I'd rather not. Nick can do it.

I think they just share part of a brain and then pick up each other's specialties as needed.

In our world, they were secretly running SHIELD.

Fury's off the team, for us. Supposedly dead, but not. I'm sure he's still in the game, but he's not playing where we can see him.

True. Too true. It's a bit unnerving sometimes.

Oh, that. Yeah, that happened... Six years ago? Seven? It was back when Fury Sr. was still running his Secret Warrior program.

Yeah. That sounds about par for the course with a Fury.

A little bit, but I like it too. How close they are, how smart they are, and how good they stay. It's nice that they're still who they are, the rest of us get more muddied up along the way, but even when they go through hell, those two stay steady to who they are.

Huh. So echoes of each other in both realities, but not really matching up. No Fury Sr. with SHIELD for us.

He's a hard guy to pin down.

That tends to happen with those that are pure at heart. It takes a lot more to break them down than it does most people. Having a firm sense of self doesn't hurt.

Huh. Now that begs even more questions. A lot of them.

Again, sounds about right.

I don't know if they're pure. I'm not sure I really buy into the idea of pure hearts and impure. But they're good people and they know who they are and hold on to that. So that's a good thing.

It's pretty interesting. There's double sets of Avengers too - but from what I can tell, your world has a lot more of them. There's two Steve Rogers running around that I've seen.

There have been roughly 100 members of the main Avengers team over the course of its existence, and that's not even counting its multiple splinter groups. There is, of course, a large amount of crossover insofar as the teams are concerned.

Clint, Nat, Jess, and Steve. That's four people so far. Anyone else that you've seen a duplicate of? Or anyone on my team? Or anyone else of note?

Yeah. There's like 8 or so in our world. They make enough mess for 100 though.

There's a couple of Clints I think. Plus there's a guy who looks just like OUR Hawkeye, but isn't him. Two Widows. Daisy has a teenage double. There's two Barnes.

There's a lot of people of note, depending on how you want to define noteworthy. Personally, I was thrown by the My Little Pony.
