	I am her. Just not blond or white, I've never been those things. And I'm not really an expert on anything anymore. I was captured by HYDRA, they brainwashed me and SHIELD never came for me. If it wasn't for Grant I'd be dead or still suffering from what HYDRA did to me. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

I'm remembering more all the time but HYDRA did a lot of damage.

Our realities are quite different. Grant was with SHIELD but he was loyal to a man named John Garrett who was HYDRA but he wasn't loyal to them, just to Garrett. After the fall and Garrett's death SHIELD imprisoned Grant, tried to send him back to his abusive brother and he escaped. There's more but it's not a short story.

It's a lot more complicated than what I just laid out as well. I don't know what the Grant from your reality is like or what his family is like but my Grant, his family were abusive and cruel, they were going to have him tried as an adult when he was just fifteen because he'd set fire to his family home with his older brother inside. Garrett broke him out of juvie and offered him the chance to make something of himself but he lied to him from the start, he did make Grant stronger but he manipulated him and convinced him to help him in his own personal mission.

Our Garrett did all that and more. He betrayed SHIELD and was responsible for the deaths of many good agents.

I'm not comfortable discussing the rest so publicly, there are people here who still believe Grant is working angles when he is just trying to live his life free of any sort of manipulation or anyone else's agenda dictating his actions.

	He's one of our best. Always has been, as far as working angles go, so the skepticism is to be expected. Especially when things get as complicated as they do. But for us... if it weren't for Wiseguy, Grant would still be the SHIELD Agent he always was. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Some of the people here were part of the team he was in when his double agent status was revealed or they joined the team after the fact and they have never given him a chance to explain his side or they just didn't listen. Operation Wiseguy. It was a deep cover op to get one of our agents into HYDRA so that we could gather intel that we'd never had access to before. Grant and I laid out the operation perimeters and proposed them to Director Hill. He would go into HYDRA as a trainee, and SHIELD and the Avengers would orchestrate a number of events to get him promoted to a more substantial position.

	That's something going very wrong then. The Grant I know would never do something like that either. And hearing you call him one of your best friends is strange. 	I'm not going to say there weren't occasions where I wanted to. But my desire to enact revenge in the moments where the betrayal was the freshest doesn't change that I was fond of him.
