Percy had been just about to explain that his partners really wouldn't mind at all that he and Tary had kissed. Well, Vex might. A bit. But that had more to do with her feelings about Tary himself than any kind of jealousy. They would never have worked if they couldn't handle one another being involved with other people. Besides, the others had made it pretty clear they were well aware of Tary's slight crush on him, and his own interest had been more than apparent.
But Vax came in before he could explain any of that and, in typical Vax fashion, made it all a non-issue. For someone who could, on occasion, be terribly dramatic - not that Percy had any room to talk on that score - Vax was surprisingly good at diffusing the tension in situations. Sure, he wasn't exactly subtle about it, but he made it work. Percy was honestly a bit shocked that Vax hadn't stopped to offer them lubricant or condoms. And god, that had been an incredibly awkward conversation with Harry. If his boss and somewhat father-figure never gave him a talk about safe sex again, it would be none too soon.
He knew Vax was probably a bit irritated. After all, he'd been doing that thing where he kept shooting looks Percy's way while he worked on his rifle, while shifting and stretching and basically making himself look like an idiot while trying to get his attention and simultaneously trying not to look like he was trying to get his attention. It was a thing Vax did when he was turned on but didn't want to seem like a nuisance. Percy privately found it hilarious. So Vax was probably a bit irritated that he wasn't the one Percy was focusing on, but that was hardly a big deal. He'd make it up to him later. Tary needed this way more than Vax did, and Percy had been thinking about it for weeks. Vax could handle waiting.
Once Vax was gone, Percy rolled his eyes with a laugh. "Does that answer your question?" he asked. "They're fine with it. Jealousy doesn't really factor into this." He paused, leaning in to kiss Tary again, briefly this time. "Now, we can talk more. We'll definitely be doing that either way. There are things we need to talk about. But we can talk more. Or we can move things to my room. That way we don't have any more interruptions. You don't have to say yes, if you don't want to. I'll never push you into anything you don't want. But if you want to take this to a bed, I would absolutely not be opposed. What do you want, Tary?"
