Zahra had been quiet for most of the time they had been in the lab. She liked Percy. In many ways, they were similar people. In her time in Whitestone, they'd had many conversations about forging weapons, about the perils of nobility, about a number of things. She had genuinely enjoyed creating the Raven Queen shrine when he had asked her to. He was far too clever for anyone's good and she could see a darkness in him, but she liked him. Seeing him dead was a painful thing.
Vex's pain was worse. It was written all over her and Zahra ached to be able to fix it. She had taken her place by Vex's side, silently supporting her and giving her someone to lean on. Vex tried so hard to be strong for everyone. She needed someone to be strong for her. Still, she mostly felt useless. She liked Percy, but she didn't know that she had any place helping in this ritual.
Until the gun came out and Kash spoke of demons and souls and a thread. Zahra knew a lot about demons and devils. It was part of her heritage. And she knew what this was. Knew how to fix it. "Greater Restoration," she said, voice soft but firm. "We need someone to cast Greater Restoration. It will sever the connection between this Orthax and his tether on this plane. And it should help to release Percival's soul so you can complete the ritual."
She gave Kash a stern look. "You focus on the ritual," she said. "If it breaks, we may not get a second chance." She looked at Keyleth, hoping she was right. "You can do it, can't you?" she asked. She was sure the lovely little druid knew the spell. "You need to do this, darling."
Having said her peace, she wrapped an arm around Vex and pulled her close. "He will be all right, dear," she assured her. "Have faith."
